Data offer valid for new customers only who activate by 28 Nov 2022 (you lose 10GB if activate after)

    • +1

They've extended the date for extra data every single time this year. Previous "activate by" dates were 26th Sept, 4th July, 28th March, 31st Jan.

There was a rep on here that said it was "extremely likely" they would keep extending in the foreseeable future. While not a guarantee, I would be mighty surprised if they actually did end it this time. In fact, the $200 SIM used to only give 100GB in 2021, so there's a chance they might even increase the offer in 2023.

  • i'm with BOOST and recharge every month for $30 - can i flip across to this for 12 months and stop paying monthly?

edit: i think lufee answered my question

    • +3

Actually it is possible. Chat to Boost support and they will activate and transfer your number to the sim new. It worked for me multiple times.

      • thanks, ordered :)

      • Is this new sim kit similar to what has been sold at ebay for $150 - 160 range?

        • +1

Yes. I bought from Boost once and it was the same as on ebay.

  • +10

    Hoping Boost do eSim soon!

    • Me,too! I had to use Telstra's plan for less data just because of esim issue.

      • Telstra just seen your comment and decided to hold the esim feature to boost

    • We are working really hard to offer it as soon as possible for both existing customers and new customers! :)

  • The promo code BOOST170 doesn't seem to be valid or has expired

    • just worked for me, purchased 2 SIMs

      • My bad, typing error

  • +14

one feature that MOST people dont know, not sure still exist with boost?

you can make or receive call, send or receive sms when you OVERSEAS without any extra fees. aslong you are connected to a WIFI

    • +2

Some said that they do not support that feature anymore but I went overseas few months ago and I did received sms via wifi for banking, etc…

      • I thought SMS is via roaming network? I don't know if wifi got to do with this.

        • yeah so weird why they are not advertising this in big big bold letters, im sure everyone will jump ship

      • +3

i was overseas july-october and was able to receive sms/calls when on wifi

      • Officially not supported right now but works for some. It didn't work for me on wifi either, but having said that my location had TERRIBLE wifi.

I connected to Qantas Wifi in-flight last week and got an SMS - was a nice surprise.

    • +5

Yep, feature is called "Wifi Calling". Boost definitely works with this, as well as Telstra and Optus. You have to have a mobile phone that supports it, but any modern phone released in the last 3 years should support it.

It's something that helps me, as I live in a poor mobile reception area, but obviously no problems with wifi reception.

      • +2

        +1 can confirm

      • +1

is this feature something you need to activate on the phone or via the provider?

        • +1

Nope i wasnt expecting my sim to be active but i had great conversation in Bangkok and delhi…just need to have wifi calling activated on your phone. Just 1 soft touch.

          • @Ekoz: What happens if you heavy touch it?

          • @Ekoz: So not every phone can? Let me check setting on my samsung note 10

            Edit yeah its there.

      • so you can receive verification SMS's too?

    • Using it currently so awesome

    • +1

      VoWifi is supported by Boost.
Boost also confirmed VoWifi is available while overseas.
      https://boost.com.au/blogs/help-topics/using-your-phone-over…

      • +2

VoWifi is good to keep in mind for future.

I spoke to support yesterday and they assured me that not only is international roaming not supported, but that there was absolutely no way for me to use my number whilst overseas… so i just set up call forwarding to a local sim instead which works and is free (edit - confirmed that the test call shows in the Usage History as a $0.00 call), as the country I'm forwarding to (Vietnam) is in the list of countries with boost provides unlimited calls to 😀

    • +1

I was in NZ in September and calls worked on WifiCalling. SMS receipt worked while roaming.

    • I'm currently overseas, so I just tried this. Doesn't work for me

    • Yup, I did this on a recent 3 month overseas trip! Worked brilliantly!
Actually you don't even need WiFi if you have a second (local) sim in the country you're visiting and that sim has data. If course your phone needs to be capable as well.

  • this or coles mobile $169 for 200 gb?

    • +11

      Boost is way better

      • +1

Ditto, Telstra network superior > Optus, imho.

    • Optus might be shit to deal with when things to go wrong. But it's a positive walk in the park compared to dealing with boost/Telstra.

    • Boost uses the full Telstra network unlike other providers that still use the Telstra network but don't have full access.

    • The better question is woolworths mobile or this. As you can get 10% off on groceries and uses wholesale Telstra just no Vowifi

  • +1

Could I use this in a 4G modem connected to PC for data only? I just want to have a remote connection to it from another PC.

  • hmm tempted but still have over 300GB with belong ….

    • +1

Remember boost is the full Telstra network, belong is not. There's a Telstra tower here at a remote site I go to, zero belong coverage but full boost/Telstra coverage.

  • +2

Hey guys another poster previously pointed out you can get officeworks to price beat 10% so even cheaper if you have a store local and dont have to wait for shipping

    • Not valid with coupon though.

      • +1

Price beat to luckymobile they have it for 172 I believe right now

    • +3

      5%

  • Any $300 boost sim cards on offer? or cashrewards stack?

  • Don't forget $4.2 cashback, code is listed on Cashrewards website so its valid

  • +6

    HOLD for cashrewards deal

  • Does this offer include access to 5G?

    • +3

5G is currently available as a "trial" until the end of November 2022, date has been pushed out previously so could be extended further

  • -2

My current amaysim yearly plan runs out in two months, there will be a much better boost $200 prepaid deal before now and then, right?

  • still waiting for an amazing deal like this

  • +9

There are always better deals than this. I have purchased this for around $150 3 times for myself and family members in the last 10 months.

    • from ebay?

    • +1

Apparently due to a price bump from Boost's end we won't be able to obtain that again.

    • Yep waiting for $150 deal to pop up.

My boost ends in 4 days.

Wondering which sim to port to

  • How long does it take to port from Belong to Boost?

  • Whats the process of porting over to Boost?

  • Too bad data doesn’t rollover, used to be with Boost. I don’t spend too much of the data so rollover is appreciated

  • Any deal for recharge? I’m about to renew my 365day $200 plan .

    • I would like to know too, but I guess port out and port back is the solution?

    • Apparently a CSR will let you migrate to a starter kit from your existing offer/number

      • Never heard of that you need to port to another service provider then switch back…

  • You can get Woolworths long expiry sim for $180 with 180GB. Also on Telstra network.
Maybe a better deal if you don’t need international calls?

    • Telstra wholesale or full access?

      • the question should be full or part access to telstra network ?

      • +1

Boost is the only MVNO with full access to the Telstra 4G network. This principle does not apply to 5G (in the event Woolies / Boost are still offering a 5G trial). 5G is the full network but speed capped for MVNOs.

    • Woolies have esim too and younger discounted shopping. It would be handy if you could actually see what the difference between wholesale and full access to their 4g network really meant.

      • Have you checked the coverage maps?

    • I'm currently on Woolworths mobile. It has been super crappy lately. I live in the hills district NSW. I can be next to a tower and it still sucks.

  • I used to have Boost then switched to Amaysim, but will probably switch back again.

    The positives with Amaysim

    • eSim
    • International roaming so you can receive SMS only if required and not get any charges
    • Call forwarding, when travelling I used to forward to a Skype Aus number so you only got stung with 20c per minute to receive calls

    Negatives

    • Phone and data is inferior to Boost
  • Surely you end up making money by sim hopping to these guys every 2-3 months with CR always giving $1-2 profit.

  • Does anyone know if you can add this on to a current boost Sim (also on the exact same plan) to extend it?

    • Tell them you are valued client of Boost. Talk nicely to the customer support. They might do it as a recharge ;).

      • Who do I contact, their new customer sales or existing customer service?

        • Just contact support threw app or website, easy process done it a while back

      • was not working for me months ago.

        • Worked for me

  • I had a terrible experience with Boost (sent a dead on arrival/faulty sim). Had to be without a service for several hours. Has this happened to anybody else?

    • +2

same happened with me.They sent me a faulty sim so i have to purchased 2$ sim and asked them the to transfer my plan on new sim.

      • I have done exactly the same. Bought $2 starter kit and requested customer support to transfer the service.

  • +3

Curious why is this a good deal? Given i boguht this for $145 a few months ago?

    • It was $125 a few years ago.
It could be $250 months later.

  • Am OS in California ATM with a Telstra Sim in Oppo Find X2 Pro. Had to turn VoWiFi off before I could make and receive calls with international roaming activated. SMS was ok. Go figure?

  • Boost doesn't look after their existing customers (no discount), this is so bad!

  • Anyone know if Boost issue a tax invoice receipt?

  • +1

    Woolies mobile.

Telstra network, 180Gb for $180/100Gb for $140, and 10% off shopping once every month.

With the monthly shopping discount you'll get the money you paid for the plan back well before the 12 months expiry.
We'll do a big family shop there for $4-500 and get say $50 back every month…. you're well ahead in a years time.

    • I agree with you, my woolworths mobile plan is basically free due to the 10% off shopping once per month.

  • Sorry I may be stupid but how does this work ?

you pay $200 for a year and only get 140gb data for the whole year?

    • +1

Yeah, basically. Could bite you if you somehow burn all your data in a hurry but otherwise it's a solid deal.

  • Use “boost170” for A$30 discount, access through Cashrewards offering A$35 cash back for A$200 pack
So total price is A$135 for 365 days

    • +1

      That's right! :)

      • Ordered and received the SIM, great offer. Can you confirm it's 140GB/month if activated by 28th Nov, and 130GB/month if activated after. thanks

    • Make sure to activate within 30 days I believe.

  • Does Officeworks price match Boost?

  • +2

How long does it take boost to ship ship SIM cards once purchased? I bought it on 25/10 and it is still not shipped yet? I needed it asap.
