I was going more for a drop bar, I took one for a test ride and it felt more comfy / natural

XL will be perfect for you. I’m 193cms and find the giant xl perfect. Maybe even a little big at first
It's all to do with body proportions.
I rode xl for years, then went into a store and they said I should try large, this is when I was already buying a new bike.

Yeah fair enough. For my son who’s already almost 6’, the bike guy said as he’ll probably still grow; it’s better to get a size up (XL) as he’ll still grow into it
