My cheap Amazfit is still going, but I'm always keeping an eye out for an upgrade. This price looks sharp, and there is 12% off if you order an eligible item from Amazon UK. Comes with "12 months premium", for what that's worth.

Was previously on OzBargain for $89 here to a lukewarm response.

Looks good. 10 days battery life.

    • +2

Yep, been using mine for about 2 years, the battery life of 10 days ~ 1.5 weeks sounds about right. For a simple slim fitness band, $50 is a good price.

  • Fitbit Premium subscription cost is $185p.a. so it would be a cheap way to get that maybe? Tempting, but the 12 month subscription I got with my charge 5 doesn't run out for another 6 months..

    • +16

Lol what a turn off. I might wait for amazfit. Don't like subscription as much as possible

      • +13

Fitbit is the worst for pushing subscriptions. A couple of years ago they had watches you could load music and control playback, but they've killed off good models and gradually reduced services so that now you have to subscribe to a 3rd music streaming service to be able to save and play music..

      • @ChickenAdobo what's wrong with amazfit band 7? It's available on Amazon but from USA?

        • That the device I'm waiting on a discount on. I'm happy with my Amazfit 5.

          • @ChickenAdobo: @ChickenAdobo Does Amazfit Band 5 or 7 have "proper" 24/7 HR monitoring? As in it records your HR 24/7 and NOT "available to measure HR 24/7 when you touch screen?"

            • +1

@WordsToSayIt: I don't what you are exactly after but there is an option to measure Heart Rate every 5 minutes

    • +3

do you need to go on this subscription or what does it offer?

      • +6

Subscription is optional and if you don't subscribe then you can still see your basic stats in simplified form in the app. The subscription gives you access to more detailed breakdown of your stats e.g. sleep, health, plus access to workouts, meditation. I find the detailed sleep stats useful. There's plenty of YouTube reviews on the service so best to look it up

        • +12

That should be free. Data harvesting should have made it the subscription model moot.

        • +1

You get sleep tracking (time asleep, restless, awake) without the paid subscription.

  • So I picked up a sense which came with 6 months that I have yet to redeem. Can I get this and use the 12 months on my sense?

    • My guess is that if you enable the watch on your fit it account then it will work. The guess being that the watch has something like an IMEI/mac address which uniquely identifies it on the portal and then ties the free sub to it.

But hopefully someone else chimes in who's actually got one cos I definitely dont

  • +8

What an I missing, why do people pay for software for this? I assume it shows steps, sleep, walking and running like every other fitness watch

    • +7

Yeah it's a bit ridiculous how everything is a damn subscription these days…

      • +13

        I subscribe to that sentiment

    • +1

i've got the first gen inspire and i've never paid for subscription. i haven't even bothered with the free trial. the "basic" information it shows on the fitbit and in the app is more than enough for me.

Best reviews of fitness trackers / watches on YouTube and he seems to have good things to say - bought four, thanks OP!

  • +5

Owned 3 different fitbit devices. They all had problems and support was not only very difficult to get a hold of but also just straight up incompetent. None of my issues ever got resolved. I would strongly advise against buying any fitbit devices.

    • +1

Both sides of my old charge 4 band connectors broke and no way to repair. I had to glue the bands onto the device. On the other hand, its old battery lasted longer with recent update.
It doesn't outperform our brands regarding build quality, but at discounted price it doesn't go too wrong…

    • which ones did you own?

i've only had a fitbit flex 1st gen, and inspire 1st gen. both still going although the flex is over 6 years old now and the battery life is getting a bit erratic. gone through a few bands as well on the flex.

i've had the inspire for slightly more than a year. got it for $59. easy to read screen and heaps easier to charge with the magnetic cable. the only thing it lacks is a heart rate monitor which i don't really need. not had a problem with that either.

    • I purchased a few fitbit in the last 7-8 years. Both mine and my partner's last devices had quality problems. The customer service provided 35% off voucher as the solution…decided not to buy fitbit anymore.

  • Get a xiaomi any day of the week. Awesome trackers. With good app.

  • +4

My amazfit band 5 is still going strong and has Alexa, would like NFC on it though.

    • +1

i have the amazfit BIP. 45 day battery life to start with, now, 20 months later…. lucky to get a couple of days. the battery is dying so quick

    • +1

My phone is much safer & convenient option for NFC. Bands/watches are suitable for tracking where the phone is not convenient. Overcapitalisng (reading text, etc) adds redundant cost & drains the battery. I only need more durable strap & recently trying with MiBand6 as the % battery status is not done well (too small) on amazfit 5.

  • +2

The list of features here compared to something like the MiBand or Amazfit is pretty bad, not to mention a subscription fee to access them. Am I missing something? Why are fitbits still a thing?

  • Does the Fitbit trackers sync with Apple health?

  • +2

    I use for AIA steps

  • Got the Garmin vivofit jr. 2, whose band fits wrists measuring 130-175 mm in circumference.
Any idea whats the band measurement for this and can it be used by a 8yr kid?

    • Don't have a ruler on me but should be ok for a kid. Mine came with an extra arm band for bigger wrist, so the one already attached be fine.

  • +1

Stopped buying fitbits after it burnt my wife’s wrist. Raised it with them and they couldn’t give a f***

Not getting a cent from me.

    • Which watch was this?

  • +2

It doesn't worse it. The display is not bright enough which makes you failed to see anything while you are outside under the sunshine.

  • I've been meaning to update my Fitbit. this one looks good. thanks!

  • +1

I'm on my third Fitbit Charge…after first two were replaced. Support was generally pretty good with replacement. Both my charges had a blank screen problem and stopped working less than a year.

That said, based on my support experience, fairly low risk.

  • +1

    Thanks OP, bought two :)

I know Fitbit has its fair share of problems (I prefer the features of the Mi Band 7) but this band at least seems to have the most accurate all-round tracking in the sub $100 price range. Accuracy should be the number one factor when deciding on a fitness tracker (after price, of course). Bonus if it's supported by a good app with detailed analytics.

  • Thanks OP. Great price! Bought one. I wish i had a reason to buy two.

  • Anyone in Melbourne CBD keen to team up to get 2 for 12% off?

    • Yes i can I am near Melbourne CBD

      • Apology someone reached out earlier than you 😌

  • +1

I purchased one for my 10 year old at double the price. Sigh. He rates it highly, for what that’s worth.

  • Ok.. thanks

  • +1

Got rid of Fitbit charge 4 after I found it used the stepcounter to estimate run distance and speed instead of GPS locations (which it collected) to accurately measure.

  • I've been using this and it's a great watch for the price. Great battery life. The premium membership is a nice bonus.
I have the white wristband and it looks good too.

  • What is the difference between the international version and AU version if there's any?

    • +2

  • Mine probably lost in NL

    Is everyone's tracking showing:

Package arrived at a carrier facility
    Ams, NL

I find it hard to believe everyone's Fitbit is stuck at the same place..

    • yup, Friday 4 November - 10:32am?

    • Totally agree

  • same, no updates from Amazon other than if it doesnt arrive by the 11th you can request for a refund.

Sad but not a big loss, I had already purchased a couple of fitbit ace 3 replacement bands for this. I guess i will just hold onto it until I see another bargain for this tracker.

  • +1

    Got my refund today. Shame!

    • I did the same today.

$69 now, anyone that cancelled the $50 price might be able to get promo credit if you ask nicely

  • In the club of never arrived…. stuck in NL…. but have been refunded 🤷‍♀️

    • Same. Stuck there too. Sounds dodgy af.

  • Mines stuck in NL too and I requested a refund.

  • +1

I don’t know how everyone’s Fitbit have all been shipped to NL and is now lost in transit. Looks pretty doggie to me. Refund or no refund. My son was waiting anxiously for his only to be told it’s not going to arrive anytime soon!

    • +1

Semi-trailer crashed and burned on the highway? Things do happen occasionally. Who knows?

I would have said the container ship overturned on the way due to a storm, but it appears it didn't get far enough for that to happen.

      • the canals in amsterdam can be treacherous

  • my reordered fitbit arrived in 2 days and i received amazon $18ish promotional credit for the difference between original price ($51ish) & what I paid ($69)

    • Yeah they offered to refund me the difference too if I wanted to re-order.

    • Yup, local Amazon stock. Mine arrived the next day.

  • Confirmed. Contacting amazing support will help refund the difference. They basically applied a promo code to my cart when placing the new order.

Since I ordered 2 last time I also still got the 12% off when purchasing 2. Total I paid again was $88+

  • Well it's headed somewhere ! Left package facility in Amsterdam Monday 14th

    • What a ride! And it's not over yet.

    • same, a few hours after I went the refund route.

    • I wonder if they’ll still arrive even for those that requested a refund (including me, I didn’t realise we could reorder and get a refund of the difference!), or if Amazon can halt the delivery once they hit Australian shores?

  • +1

I am curious if this will still arrive? if it does Amazon require you to notify them so they can pick it up, would you be charged if you don't return it?

FYI you can track it here from APGcommerce which will also have a button to track locally after you see the original tracking number result.

    • Looks like my watch has arrived in Australia (according to packageradar) even though the tracking button has now disappeared after I requested aand received the refund.

      • That's interesting, the tracking button is gone for me too and I hadn't requested a refund. But similarly, it's now showing as in the country.

  • Have the refund but yup it's in aus now too. Longest time frame for an amazon parcel delivery international for sure

    • Yeah, the second tracking number is showing up in regular Australia Post tracking now.

  • Yep, and just received email from auspost that my refunded fitbit is on it's way! looks like we got a good one here boys!

  • +2

Got my Fitbit today…plus got my refund a few weeks back. Win Win.

  • -1

Are we required to return these or contact Amazon?

    • +2

do not ask questions you want a moral answer to

    • Happy for Jeff Bezos to pick it up from me if he wishes.

  • Got my refunded Fitbit yesterday , now this was a deal !

  • Mine just got delivered too, despite receiving a refund.

  • Same here!
