DO you happen to stock the reolink wireless doorbell?

    • +1

      or even the wired one.

I don't think they are available yet in AU.

      • +2

        Nah not yet :/

          Waiting, waiting, waiting….

        • Should be good waiting. Given how fast reolink update their cameras. Wouldn't be surprise to see a new model next year.

I have two of these installed. Pretty good value, works fine. Bought at this price.

    • Does it work on a single LAN cable?

      • It says WiFi. Probably needs mains power. They also do PoE models.

      • Sorry that's what I mean a single cable POE.

        • Yes I have the POE model

        • PoE is a different model

Is that you number 5 ?

    4K Security Camera

I don't think each camera is 4K, it think the stitched video is 4K in total.

    • Correct. it's essentially two of their 5MP quality cams stitched nicely. Pretty happy with mine

  • I'm thinking of setting up security camera for my house.

Eufy and Reolink seems to be the reputable brand around here. How would they compare?

    • How would they compare?

By looking at the features that are most important to you.

I just want something that can be stored locally (not cloud) but also network enabled (limited to my local network).

What features are there in security cameras anyway?

The reolink will be the winner as it will record 24/7 with human/animal/car AI detection. I have reolink and very happy. I upgraded the HDD to 6tb and connected to a UPS incase my power goes out.

Eufy can miss vital events as it can take a second to record once it detects movement.

Get a reolink kit with an NVR when they are on sale.

          • @jv: Can install the software on a computer and vlan it off.

        • The reolink solar/battery stuff doesn't store to a local NVR but everything else does.

    • I have had both brands (not this model).. Reolink software is hands down the most stable and better to use, more features etc. I didn't have the Eufy base station thing, so I was trying to use RTSP on my NAS, but that was crap because RTSP is basically polling the camera every 15-30 seconds or so to see if the camera is recording movement/activity.. This polling can mean you miss events, I guess it doesn't matter if you are recording all the time, but that seems a waste of disk.

The Reolink simply writes events to a standard FTP share on your network. It is simple and it works.

      • I've found the Reolink software (android app) very buggy lately. I bought the Argus 3 pro for use while on an OS trip. It worked fine until they did an update then it all went to hell. No access, lots of people complaining and reolinks only advice was hard reset on the camera. Bit hard from south america, so I had no camera access for a month. now I'm back and i've had to reset it a couple of times in the last month or so. I appreciate that my set up is different to what you have, but just thought I'd put my 2cents in on the software.

  • Any deal on the RLK8-800D4-A? Missed out on the recent Amazon sale.

    • Hanging out for another deal like this.

Had Eufy system and returned recently due to issues like mentioned above - missing recordings, delays etc

    Onvif compatible OP?

    • It supports onvif, HTTPS, SSL, TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, IPv4, UPnP, RTSP, RTMP, SMTP, NTP, DHCP, DNS, DDNS, FTP, P2P

  • Any suggestions on how to powered this if there's no outdoor power outlet? I'm assuming extention cord is a big no no, because it could explode or short circuit when it rains

  • I snagged the PoE version a couple months back for ~$165, very happy with it. Wish it had an option to encode the high res stream in h.264 though as most browsers don't currently support h.265

    • Where did you buy it for that price?

      • AliExpress had one of those mega sales access about 70 stores. From memory I also got AliExpress cashback and cash rewards cashback on top, about $10 and won a cheap SD card.

Shipped from reolink Aus too so had it in a few days.

    • Was probably first gen duo, not duo 2
First gen duo is 145 on reolink currently
