Does This Laptop Exist? - Budget $1300

Hi all,

My partner's Dell XPS15 is dying a slow death and we're looking to get a new laptop.

I've been looking for some deals but I probably need to compromise somewhere to hit our budget. Here's the wishlist:

Budget: $1000 to $1300
Screen size: 14 to 15.6 inch. Must be touchscreen.
Processor/Graphics card: Would ideally want a CPU that can handle 4k media processing (do we need 8 cores?). I have typically tried to get latest gen CPU to future proof the purchase a bit, as we'll ideally use for 4-5 years before upgrading again.
Dedicated GPU seems like might be something we could compromise on in order to get the price down, but any options in this budget with one? Internal graphics worries me.
16GB RAM min - or at least upgradeable within this budget range.
500GB SDD would be min as well. Potential to compromise to 256GB.

Battery life is important but not a deal breaker

Everything else we're flexible on.

Does this exist or do we need to compromise some more on the CPU/GPU? We don't need this for gaming but mainly Adobe Creative Suite apps.

  What will the laptop be used for? Do you know the XPS 15's specs?

  Intel NUC M15 is ~$1.4k
  * 15.6" FHD touch screen, i7, 1tb ssd, 16gb DDR5 ram.

  There are other variants with lower price/specs.

    Need to do video editing on it is primarily why I'm looking for good CPU / GPU.

    Heard 11th Gen Intel CPUs were a bit disappointing on performance. Is the premium you pay for 12th Gen worth it, or is there not that noticeable of a difference?

  Simples NO. Complex is it depends on what your " 4k media processing" means, playing, transcoding, editing etc

  If you gave the software you are using for '4k media processing' and more detail it should inform your CPU/GPU requirements.

    Most typical resource hungry task would be video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, and processing in Adobe Media Encoder. Usually use proxy files.

    I was looking at those Inspiron 14s, but I've never used a 2-in-1 and seems a bit gimmicky. Can't imagine longevity on those is great? Reviews are a bit mixed as well some say Lenovo Yoga would be the way to go.. Any experience?
