$150 off All Desks - 1800x800mm² Standing Desk $849 + Free Shipping @ Stand Desk

50

For those in the market for a larger Standing Desk with the common Dual motor, 3 stage legs frame, Stand Desk (owned by Secret Labs) currently have the cheapest price for a 1800mm desk. When compared side by side with a Dual motor Desky they are pretty much identical, Stand Desk motors seems a bit faster but more noisey, Both frame are fairly solid, the small amount of flex on both comes from the Bamboo top itself, I recommend adding a 2mm packer to the frames center span when assembling to reduced flex in the bamboo top.

Notable features:

  • Bamboo top includes cable management hole, tapered edges and on 1500 & 1800 mm lengths come with deeper 800mm size (most other brands are 750mm)
  • Includes Cable management tray underneath (A must have accessory IMO)
  • Build in wireless charger (it chargers pretty slow tbh)
  • Free delivery & returns

For those in the market for something cheaper/small then check out Lazymasions on eBay.

I was considering buying from these easy to build stand desk companies but found it sooo much cheaper to just buy a pretty good frame for $330 and then went and got a brand new 1800x750mm table top and cable tray from a new & used office furniture store for $100.
For those in Sydney and can pickup near the city, I highly recommend that store. They're very friendly and the table top quality is excellent for under $100.
So you can save ~$400 by just drilling some holes and picking up the table top/cable tray.

Bunnings timber benchtop works just as good and cheaper

      • Yeah bunnings is good too, but I was after a white table top to match my setup theme

      • Errr, a 75cm wide table/bench/desk top for cheaper than $100 from Bunnings?

I must have missed those when I was looking for a desktop.

        • Bunnings didn't have anything that was more than 600 finished when I checked.

          • @samkenny: They did have 900mm wide pine for at least a while, so got one of those, but it was a bit thicker than I wanted at 30mm. It was also double $100…

It is a pity they don't do those 600mm benchtops wider, because one of those would have been about right then.

Just bought a sit/stand desk and office chair. Retail Display Direct was the best price i could find. Got an 1800mm desk and a mesh chair. Desk comes with a free monitor arm. Desk was $499.95, chair $235, delivery to Perth $109. Total $843.95

There are cheaper chairs on the site but i liked the look of this one

    • Thanks for sharing the links, I'm also looking for a standing desk + a chair. Adding to that, I'm after a decent dual monitor arm – I need to move my monitors around a lot. I was looking at the Ergotron LX monitor arms, however, they are quite expensive. If anyone else has any recommendations, please share :)

    • How is the quality of desk ? And stability ? Looking for desk would like to buy something on my next salary day.

      • Only ordered Sunday and expecting a couple of weeks to arrive in Perth, so can't say yet. Google reviews are mixed, but also you can read some reviews from on here. Special prices seem to be the norm because i paid the same price as the last ozbargain listing.

I was actually looking at this deal earlier and I was comparing StandDesk to UpDown, I chose the UpDown desk.

It came out to be $120 more but they're having a deal at the moment where they throw in these for free:

    • A lockable metal draw (It also counts as a little shelf you could put a laptop on)
    • A cable shelf
    • A standing mat

They also have a 100 day return window vs 10 day for StandDesk, were generally better rated and they're based out of Australia so it seems like it'd be easier to arrange a warranty if that was needed. I got halfway through the UpDown checkout and left it overnight to think about and I got a unique $150 coupon code so the total for a bamboo 120cm desk and those accessories was $869 with free shipping.

    • thanks for letting me know about the 150 voucher - i got the same and ended up purchasing! Do you still enjoy your Updown desk?

I got two of these ones https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/143451931195 and two timber benches from bunnings ( they will cut bench to what size you need I have a 2m and 1.6m desk that fit in better to the spaces) and oiled them up and look much better then those plastic wood ones. total cost was less then $500 each.

    • How is the quality? can you post pic of timber bench (or link)
      Thanks

    • Is there a cost to have Bunnings cut the bench to what I need?

      • Bunnings will generally cut lumber and plywood for you on their panel saw for free. I can't see why they wouldn't cut table tops as well. You just have to find the right person who can use the saw.

      • No cost for a single cut. I also cut the offcut use it as a board to hide the cable tray behind it. So it's a very neat and tidy desk

    • The shipping text said from "CORA GROUP - SECRET LABS"

  • In case anyone after a bamboo top. You may want to check your local Bunnings. When I pick up my tablet top last week they got 220cm x 60cm bamboo top for $79. I'm was in Tuggeranong ACT Bunnings.
