    • I love when they do that, but also feel bad ordering ten dollars worth of items and have them delivered to my door on a Sunday..

      • +1

Then just get them from Woolies in this case :)

Get 7.2L of water and add salt with some flavouring….

Or just get some hydration powder (30% off first order)

      • How many litres is a serving

        • From the FAQ section:

SOS should only be mixed with clean water. Each stick or scoop contains enough ingredients to be mixed with 8 fluid ounces (250ml) of water. Always ensure that the product is well mixed and consumed within 24 hours of preparation.

So the tub makes 50x 0.25L = 12.5L. Not cheap even after 30% off first order.

          • @scotty: But if you look at the actual nutrition info, Poweraid is more like sugary water:

            per 100mL Powerade SOS Powder
            Sugars 5.8g 1g
            Sodium 28mg 132mg
            Magnesium 5.9mg 10mg
            Potassium 33mg 78mg

Sodium is the main focus when considering hydration. Also to note, the powder doesn't include fake flavours and colours.

Sugar and Sodium….neither of which is good for you.Eat a Banana instead.

    • +11

Making blanket statements like this is not exactly good. If you eliminate all sugar and sodium from your diet… you'd die. I get your point, but still.

      • Yeah but they are cheaper when you buy the dry stuff and mix it with water (any electrolyte/sugar rehydration sachet is the same thing, just add water)

      • +2

Oh, I didn't realise they were the only two options: drink 7.2 L of Powerade (with a combined 420 g of sugar) or dying from a lack of sodium and sugar… if only there was a middle ground.

      • No person eating a healthy diet will eliminate all sugar and salt from their diet, it's almost impossible. But I get your point also.

    • +1

      bananas are radioactive

    • +1

It's a sports drink. You're meant to drink it after a bout of exercise when you've lost salt and need sugar for energy

  • -1

I cut to the chase….I'm glad you get the point.

  • +2

Was gonna ask for help on the maths but I think I got it and it looks like powder is still cheaper than electrolyte drinks even when on half price across all brands, Powerade too.

  • Which is the best flavour here?

    • +1

      Red no sugar

    • Anything but lemon lime. That one just tastes like typical lemonade.

  • The 1.5L powerades are still $3.90 at Coles. Limited flavours though but i think its a bit cheaper than this still.

  • +1

Can you buy the tubs of powder that you mix yourself but sugar free?

  • -1

    Deduct $1.20…
