      Coles has now closed the loophole you can't use Coles prepaid MC or Vanilla card to pay for either of these 2 cards.

          Buy 5 cards then use same cards to buy another 5 cards. Then keep doing that.
          Means you only need to have enough money to fund the initial purchase and then can keep buying more cards indefinitely.

    First person to enter store and all shelves are empty

    When asking the manager that’s all that is left and was not even answering to the face

    For this they can better not advertise this sale at all

    Plenty at the Coles near me (with additional boxes stacked up at the service desk).
    Used them already. Thanks OP!

    A few ideas for those wanting to use immediately:
    - Load onto utility accounts - energy, water, mobile
    - Load onto private health account - mainly if you know there will be rate rises introduced. You can often pay ahead up to 12m in advance
    - Buy other gift cards less susceptible to being hacked

    becareful with prezzee, putting the funds onto prezzee is great but my prezzee account got deactivated for no reason and they request photo ID and transaction history proof etc to reactivate. I don't feel comfortable doing KYC with a none financial institution, lost about $70 on the account but it COULD'VE been worse if someone loaded thousands onto the account and realize they can just delete your account whenever they want which causes problems when you need to swap some funds on the spot to buy something immediately

    Managed to get $250 at my local this morning, was surprised they were at the gift card stand and not at service desk! Staff wasn't very happy when I asked about it (based on past experience was expecting to be kept at service desk instead of stand).

          You might pay their salary but they pay for your discount.

          Based on some of the behaviour it would seem that they are subsidising the 10% off promo.

    after fee deduction, the value of $250 card is around 7% and today's home loan interest rate around 4.5%-5%, the savings is somewhere 2 - 2.5%

      that calculation only makes sense if you buy the card and hold onto it for a year. If you are using it within 24-48 hours then its much higher than 2.5%

            @Kittokid: Choose the debit card option. Yes you do have to pay a tiny charge for each load, $0.67 for $250 to be exact, so you load $249.33 to make it comes to $250. I think it's worth it if you are a Wise account user, and you can see the money coming in almost instantly. Hope that make sense!

    They put this advert on ACA, me thinks they did this because a lot of us were asking how they were sold out of $100 and $250 gift cards within 2 hrs of the store opening. The only way you are guaranteed to get one of these cards is to hide them 2 days before the discount happens. Just be prepared for the staff to give you weird looks when you buy them as I am certain they are told to take them off the shelves before the sale begins.

      People must be unlucky, there were honestly boxes available at my local Coles this morning. Appropriately, the 5/customer rule was being enforced.

      Last time this deal was on, I admit I was a little broden-esque purchasing thousands worth. Even then, I always got them off the shelf or at the service desk (in unpacked boxes that can’t have been pre hidden..). I’d be surprised if the hidden cards / cards taken home issue is a large contributor to overall sales.
