yep this could be useful.. upgrade my old laptop to 802.11n for those places the don't do G (snobs) or throw it on my PC when at my parents house so I don't drag a blue cable up the stairs anymore (not that I had a problem with it).

  • I tried looking this item up but it's listed as AUD$9.59. Is the deal closed?

    • apply the coupon as above .. it's one the second last step prior to confirming payment.

    • The code in entered after payment information is entered

    • Thanks to all of you who clarified that I should add the code after confirming payment.

      Cheers,

  • Will this work for Macbooks? Are there any drivers required?

the version sold by top by as linked by UFO says ..
"Support Operating System Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Win7, Linux, MAC"
so if it is exactly the same I'd say yes.
it'd be a pretty old Macbook not to have N on it wouldn't it?

      • Yes it is. Everything else at home is on N and this old Macbook my girlfriend has is the last thing I need to change before I can go completely N!

  • Sold out.

No Deal - lost me as a customer — only 50 coupon codes available!

Next time - please state that there are only 50 codes available so you dont waste people's time.

Cancelling my account - hate giving my details away for free - with no benefit back to me - very bad form.

umm… dude, it said 50 only in the OP's post. (3rd bullet point)

      • I get your point that you can't tell if the coupon will work until late in the process that does kinda suck, but it's not uncommon and no worse then any other limited discount deal I have seen here.
But the item seems like a good price anyway for what it is with free shipping.

  • Any good for WD Live?

    • good question, I also have a blu-ray player that can use wifi with an adapter.. wonder if this will work? I'll try and update this when I get it in the future so if the deal come back people will know.

      • I doubt it will work for stand alone units like WD Live or Xbox, but I'll try out the xbox and see if it works with it and post back here.

        • I'm pretty sure xbox requires the proprietary official wifi adapter, but let us know anyway because I am curious.

  • These are for sale at meritline for $7.99 incl postage.

  • Gee, I wonder if these things are at all compatible with the [AverMedia] media player boxes (also incl'd an Internet radio function), that MSY had on sale, a while ago.

(Probably not. It said only AverMedia's USB WiFi + antenna dongle would work. This deal item requires ability to read optical disk.)

Anyone know a reasonably priced source for AverMedia's counterpart?

    TIA
