Third price drop this year for this kit, which was originally $199.
Great deal considering the drill is $159, and 4.0ah battery is $139 on their own.
Free delivery with OnePass.

Price is back to $159?
Still shows $135 for me
Still showing $135 for me
Same
Working now for qld
If people hold off the price will drop further, but then this is OzBargain…
Why would the price drop further?
It’s not a guarantee but that’s typically what happens with ryobi tool kits when they go on clearance. The rotary tool kit was RRP , then dropped to $99, dropped to $79, a few weeks later I got one $39. Similar happened to the fan kit, lantern kit, and a saw kit.
Cheapest I saw that drill was $19! Absolute steal!
why clearancing ?
@capslock janitor: Ryobi doing Ryobi things. I thing they introduce the tools as kits, then phase out the kits and continue selling skins only. At least, that's the best I can make sense of it.
@TheContact: Interesting that ay, what are skins??
@capslock janitor: Cordless tools without the batteries.
@TheContact: same as "tool only"?
@capslock janitor: Yup.
The HP range is fairly new to AU though
@DannyBoy: how often do they come out "new range"?
@capslock janitor: They've been doing the One+ for like 30yrs so there has been a few updates
@DannyBoy: 30 years wow… Wouldn't have guessed
39 for ?
ALDI doing a Ferrox brushless 20V deal starting Saturday.
hows ferrex q
@capslock janitor: Dunno, I prefer makita
I was just mentioning it as a reason Bunnings had this on sale.
I doubt it as this is a new HP model
They dropped the HP compact recip saw kit down to $42.55, not that you will find stock now, the skin is still $199.
By memory that happened at the beginning of the year, it was like 79 or 89 for a while
when they can give a discount on R18XPD, for stronger usage
Yes, strong
This is great value
Yep even better if you have plenty of chargers already and sell this one for $35-45 on Marketplace or Scumtree
how many chargers need for ourself?
Don't know everybody is different but I have 3x 18v ones and that's plenty
@DannyBoy: OK I reckon 2 tops, for us
Am I the only one who had to triple blink at OnePass now including Bunnings and getting free shipping? This is huge!
Thanks OP, bought one to retire my old drills.
All owned by Wesfarmers I guess
$40/yr

Hmmm think I'll keep click&collectin for now
unless they have these $off often..to breakeven
Cant see bunnings on the onepass site. Never even heard of it til now. You're saying I can order from Bunnings one item, and get free delivery?
Most items have to be above $80 to have free delivery.
You can add Bunnings to onepass via the Bunnings website not the onepass website yet.
I think officeworks is going to be included in onepass as well but that slightly speculative.
OK thanks. Is it already live and available with bunnings? I googled and saw they're looking to launch in November; officeworks also mentioned.
@JoeSchmogan: Yes. Live since the start of Oct.
It is showing $159 to me in WA. Is the discount only for other states?
Try item number 0327887
$135 country WA store.
So much for uniform pricing throughout. Used to to like the Bunnings 'price beating Aldi specials' since we never had an Aldi store near us at all.
I'm guessing by your username your hiding away
Just show them their own website priced at $135, they'll honour it ;)
why hidinaway
Can these be used as a normal drill as well?
Was looking at this one originally:
https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-2-0ah-drill-driver…
Yes definitely but the HP drill is much better plus you get a battery that is double the capacity. In saying that a smaller battery is always ideal for DIY work
Yeah I can second this. My drill hammer drill came with 2 of the 2.0Ah batteries and it does me fine. The weight is a little nicer on the hands. But I still borrow the 4A from my housemate when I need a bit of a boost. So definitely reckon the $135 one is better overall.
so power over deimension?
boost for what?
are the batteries inter compatible?
@capslock janitor: All of those Ryobi one+ ones are. And boost as in like you get slightly more torque out of a larger capacity battery as it can deliver more power.
Try different stores. My local (Keperra, QLD) says $159, but next one over (Stafford, QLD) shows $135. Others near me are $159 too.
They will price match
no 5% beat?
Can someone please share their receipt or evidence of $135?
$159 for my area in qld atm
Working now
Anyone in Vic need the drill but not battery?
Yep
Hey I can't start a conversation with you. Can you message me pls.
why u need just battery?
Is this good for Handyman?
Yes
Yes, strong
Is a hammer drills "regular" setting (drill driver setting, hammer function off) equally as good as a stand alone drill driver (normal drill)??
yep
why, is it same as impact driver ?
No.
It won't drive long screws into thick timber like an impact driver can.
@Nom: Thanks mate
Damn, I paid $350 for the kit with two batteries and an impact driver. Nice deal!
The kit has a 2amp charger, this only has 1.5amp charger (not really much of a difference).
This.
oh so with the hammerdrill too..
"This order is not eligible for free delivery because:
The stocked items in your cart exceed our free delivery parcel size or weight."
It seems that if you exceed the normal $10 shipping charge that message displays. I only seem to exceed on oversized items (doors, moulding etc). You got anything else in your cart? Just 1x qty?
yeh just 1x, live semi-rural
Bunnings website shows $159. How can you get $135? Does it scan at $135?
Must vary by location. Showing as $135 for me with my local store set.
Thanks for your help. Found the price varies by change store.
Does the HP make a meaningful difference
If you use a HP battery you will get more power out it but doesn't come with the HP battery
are the batteries interchangeable?
Yep
Would be great if it also came with the HP battery. Will be a good opportunity for me to jump into the Ryobi ecosystem as I'm looking at the HP impact wrench. Or probably just overthinking it.
im in similar boat about the ecosystem, i spose u researched?
what are you using for? im going for DIY/home maintenance/handy work
I do more mechanical DIY stuff now so the mid-torque impact wrench (RIW18X) and this deal was the push towards the Ryobi ecosystem. It's a step up from the Aldi and Ozito range from what I'm reading, so hopefully, that holds true.
So now I have this hammer drill, found a HP brushless impact driver on FB marketplace for cheap and on the hunt for a deal on the RIW18X. The last piece would be a circular saw and that would be sufficient for general woodworking around the house.
I have other cordless tools from other brands so I'm now making the jump to consolidate the various brands into Ryobi.
hi so i was reading this other thread and heard good things about ozito,BOSCH blue/green,makita ?
you seem to have done research, any more thoughts you can share on the matter?
i know u went for ryobi ecosys bc of this deal but im looking for a value cheatcode, pricing not a big problem as i got cc price protection insurance.
(edit- oh looks like you said ozito worse than ryobi)
@capslock janitor: Within the Ryobi ecosystem is the HP brushless range. It is this range that I believe is closer to Makita/Milwaukee performance and is what I am building my collection on based on my perception of value for money. I may get some non-HP brushless tools for jobs that may not require the power or the battery life of HP brushless tools. I've only just started so I can't give any indication of longevity of the tools.
I have the following and all are performing nicely.

Haven't used this angle drill yet but got it cheap.

@lomie: thanks lomie for your response and listings, gives me an idea for the progression of my powertool kit..
the batteried secateurs were a surprise
close to a conclusion now
should clarify that i was referring to the ozito "PXC" range which has been raved about.
have narrowed down toss-up between Ryobi, Ozito-PXC, Bosch green/blue(?), worx, makita
with potential in upgrading to one of their battery-powered lawn mowers, or even a battery robot mower, however Ryobi havent even come out with their "Roboyagi" in australia!!
ryobi/bosch/ makita = better popularity/resale value down the line
ozito-pxc = i also like to support aussie co
worx = just competitor i noticed with large product selections too, only tool platform that already have established robot mowers here
i could be overextending a bit .. just refocus on the home/DIY first
Would it be silly if I were to buy this as my first proper tool in preparation for doing some DIY work around our future home? Our house is still under construction. I've been itching to buy tools in preparation for the big move but I'm not sure if this deal will stay. I've decided that I will go with the Ryobi ecosystem but don't know much about tools just yet. It's available at my local Bunnings as well.
This is a good starter tool for a bit of an all rounder. It does:
- normal drilling into wood and metal
- hammer drilling (light work) into masonry
- screwdriver-ing
And it has a 13mm chuck
A great match as a second tool is an impact driver. Useful to have 1 tool for drilling and another for screws.
If you're into car DIY, then the third tool is the impact wrench.
For more DIY woodworking, then get the jig saw, circular saw, multi-tool, etc.
Sweet. Thanks for the insight!
Thanks for the details.
What is the first saw that I should buy (as in drill is the first tool among drill/impact driver/impact wrench)?
Same question of multi-tool/angle grinder.
Thanks.
My first saw was a circular saw. Very handy for building shelves around the home. Only recently, I bought a corded jigsaw for a one time project.
I bought one for my brother to be his first power tool as I got one at when I was younger and got a lot of use out of it.
what made u settle with ryobi ecosys?
Been looking for ankther 4Ah battery and could do with a hammer drill.
Cheers
Anyone else that has this: Does your battery wiggle? Most of my other Ryobi stuff has the battery pretty firm. This wiggles a bit.
my ryobi does not wiggle it folds
hope the 4.0Ah Lithium Battery will be on sale soon
