Wish we could just buy the extras! I don't have any kids in my life to give the two books to and $40 seems a bit steep to pay just for the extras…

  You’re completely missing the point.
  Buying the books for kids doesn’t mean it has to be for your kids.
  I’m sure you can give them away to any friend’s children or even donate them to school.
  Think outside the box.
