To anyone interested a CarPlay retrofit, I spent a lot of time researching the different models, and I would highly recommend the carlinkit 4.0 version.
Plug and play, the setup is easy and the re-connection is pretty fast. It not only supports Wireless CarPlay but also supports Wireless Android Auto. It also supports online upgrades.
It’s important to know that for most models you need the full kit, not the cheaper usb dongle.
Anyway, sorry for the long post, but hopefully this helps owners looking for a CarPlay retrofit.

FYI - it’s not AUD$80.99. Your cart shows USD$80.99
Edit: even with your discount code, PayPal shows $134.49 after conversion
Cheaper at Amazon at $125.60Even cheaper at AliExpress at $67.66 + $14.68 for shipping
Heh, yeah that Ali price kills this deal. Had fine experiences ordering from Ali in the past too.
Mixed reviews on Amazon.
The Aliexpress ones are copies… and don't update correctly when new firmware comes out…. not really a good comparison.
Different seller: 123 orders with 4.7 star reviews. $81.68 delivered on AliExpress
doesn't mean it can update….. just that 123 people purchased it =)
“A lot of time researching” to recommend a product you’re associated with? Lol.
Post is misleading as this is not a “CarPlay retrofit”, you have to have CarPlay already for this to work.
Also the $80.99 price is in USD, not AUD, and doesn’t look to include shipping either.
“ It’s important to know that for most models you need the full kit, not the cheaper usb dongle.”
What does this even mean?
In any case looks to be cheaper on Amazon if you have Prime at AU$125 including free delivery, plus the return benefits of buying from Amazon.

AU$80.99 on eBay and $5 off is you are a plus customer
Have this. Works decently but realised that apple devices (iphone 14) has a delay and tried software update. Made things better but still slightly noticeable whilst killing google assistant on android devices lol. Tough but it looks like they consistently update their software and everything else is otherwise very smooth and I would still perfer this than several cables (usb-c/lightning in the car) any day. Also got it off amazon for around 120ish few weeks ago.
I've tried this one, it's quite slow with android auto, as it seems to translate everything to apple carplay protocol. There's noticeable delay when using the touch screen, and there's no longer any multipoint touch input available, so you cannot zoom etc.
Also, since it uses bluetooth, the car no longer connects to the phone directly with bluetooth, which it otherwise does using wired android auto, so you cannot use the cars default bluetooth phone control. This fact made it not accepted by the wife, who uses an iphone.
