Seems to be the cheapest in stock online, most competitors are $1400+

I managed to get Harvey Norman to price match JB HIFI (I had a credit to use at HN). They complained it was below their "cost price" however and they claimed JB must be selling these at a loss, so it seems to be a good deal? After the complaining they still matched it but.

Note: On this model you cant change the side the door opens.

I got an LG one of these and they use heaps less energy than conventional dryers and they don't make the room steamy (though you shouldn't vent a conventional dryer back into the same room). The lint filter really fills up heaps though - not sure if that's this type of dryer or just dryers in general (I haven't needed one for decades).

I'm happy with ours. We paid about this a year or so ago.

I have this exact dryer… brought it about 3 years ago.
It's pretty good… works the same today as when I brought it.

Unlike my previous (non-heat pump) LG condensing dryer, this one doesn't have any trouble with jeans and towels.

There are two filters. The main one in the door, and one in the lower panel. The main filter has to be cleaned very load, and the lower filter is cleaned about once per week. Dust still gets manages to get onto the condensing fins, so I generally vacuum this with my Dyson about once per month.

    • If you just did the Dyson at the door filter, does that clear it up?

      • I use a Dyson V7 on the door filter, it works well.

    • Not sure what it means by the lower filter. Do we need to lift the dryer up to clean it?

      • No. I assume it’s on the front of the machine but below the door, in the image you can see a panel there that should be removable.

@OP I believe different retailers have different cost prices? Same thing happened to me with Samsung stuff (price matched EPP at JB, but TGG says it's below cost for them)

But then again, JB has been known to pricematch even at a loss, so maybe it is true.

Fastest path to shutting them up and closing the deal?

Just state "Mate, I suspect you're looking at your invoice price and NOT your actual cost price. You know - after sell-through rebates and marketing co-contribution"

EDIT: This is how you also get much better deals when places advertise "ONE DAY ONLY! Invoice cost plus $1". Still margin there to negotiate against. And when the salesperson attempts to mislead you stating "Yes, it's our cost price plus $1" then go for the jugular. 😈

They are different models. OP posted DH8060P3 vs your link which is DE8060P3. I believe the difference may be heat pump vs condenser

I got a 9kg version of this 2 years ago, I would have a confident guess this isn't near cost price and might say they have about 300 or so to go before that would be the case.
Anyway it's been awesome hasn't missed a beat, if you've got a "cupboard laundry" it helps to leave the door open a crack so it doesn't get too humid in there without running an exhaust fan.

  • Comes down to $1126.80 (+delivery) using this between now and 7am tomorrow: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729657

  • I picked up this exact dryer from another deal about a month or 2 back from AO. The dryer itself was brilliant, it would dry everything we put into it without trouble, and worked great.. Unfortunately not long after we received it (1 or 2 days!), it started to produce a high pitched whining noise while the drum was spinning.. it wouldnt do it immediately, but after about 10-20 minutes into a cycle it would start, and would continue for the rest of the cycle. At first we kind of ignored it - however it became so annoying we had to return the unit.. Even closing the laundry room door didnt dull the high pitched noise it would make, and my home office was right next to the laundry so it was unbearable when I was trying to work. No replacement stock at the time, so had to return it and just never bothered to buy anything else since.
