Credit Cards with No Annual Fees with a Rewards Program

Just wondering if there are free credit cards with rewards system. Used to have Citibank years back and even HSBC at some stage. Not sure if it is not possible to get that anymore.

    I've got Coles Mastercard, the free one gives you 0.5 flybuys/$1, or 1:$1 if you spend at Coles group shops (kmart, target, Bunnings etc). If you spend a lot, then it's worth to get the $89 one which gives you 2x fb points per dollar spend

    None thats as good as hsbc platinum/citibank signature (premier). Personally, the premier had a minimum 15k limit. Which can limit your ability to get a home loan.

    Hsbc global debit card gives you 2% cashback with tapping your card, which isn't bad.

        It had a lifetime free offer (a while back). I have that.

        Then they went to spend X amount over the years and annual fee waived.

        Mine is completely free.

          Oh right, I just signed up for it this year, did I miss the part about minimum spend and annual fee waiver? Or is this a past deal?

            Then maybe 2 years ago it was the minimum spend deal.

    AMEX essentials gives you points equal to 0.675% cashback and has no annual fee. Good for building credit.

    I use it in conjunction with my HSBC debit card (which doesn't give you a hard enquiry) with it's 2% cashback for instore purchases

      Is their app any better? I tried to use it a few years back but their app gave me an aneurysm. There's like passphrases and transaction passwords and needlessly complicated to use. Besides, I'd rather have an Aussie/ American company steal my data than an overseas political party.

        I think the app is ok once you set it up. I only need to use my fingerprint to login each time (after the first). It's pretty nice to see that immediately after each transaction they will show you the corresponding cashback amount.

    I use the Kogan credit card. No annual fees and 1% Kogan credit on purchases.

    The app is pretty crap and the website has never worked.

    I'd be keen to change to something else, but haven't found a deal that I like from anyone else…

    If you spend more than $20,000, per annum, on the card this was is no fee. It doesn’t have points rewards but it does have free insurance options.

    Cards are like wine. If you got one at the right time and looked after it it can be very rewarding.
    Only issue is if you got too many and don't use them enough, the renewals just never come.

    If u have a home loan with one of the larger lenders you could usually get a free credit card . They would typically have a rewards program

    BankSA have the amplify rewards platinum card with 100,000 bonus points (worth $450 in gift cards) if you spend $3000 in first 90 days. Not free though, $29 for first year then $99 per year. I’m trying it for a year then will see if the annual fee is worth it after that.
    Otherwise Amex Essentials card as already mentioned.

      While some cards are off the market, but some are still available:

      Coles 0.25-0.50% cashback in flybuys pts.

      Kogan 1% cashback in Kogan pts.

      CBA Low Fee, no annual fee with $1k spend/yr, no pts cashback but CBA Rewards Program.

      Three types of AmEx

        I looked into it. So statement is still valid :). Not decent free credit cards anymore. Coles one seems better than nothing.
        CBA rewards program is not that great.

        haven't seen any great offer on ozbargain anymore either for credit cards.

          Amex Essentials card is free and has a rewards programme.
