On eBay the 400 multi colour ball lights are $54.80 so this is much cheaper

          Thanks for posting the deal?

Great price for the 400 colour ball set especially since it's 40Mtr long

  • Does anyone know are they individually controllable RGB LEDs? It is not clear from the packaging/ manual.

      Found this 4 star review

"Would have been cool if they were full rgb but still decent"

so it seems not, now that would have been a good deal.

    • the mirabella genio 'pixel' lights are all addressable.

I have these. a bit limited but they do rolling patterns and colours.

    • It is four colour other than full RGB colous

Can anyone find a simple photo of these lights, used in an interesting manner?

The price seems ok but I can't see much besides a bad xmas tree.

  • Does anyone have any experience with these? There aren't many reviews out there.

I have almost every single product in the Genio range. I dont have these lights but i have the pixel addressable version (https://www.kmart.com.au/product/mirabella-genio-wi-fi-pixel…)

generally everything in the range is good, although there is inconsistencies between different types of lights in the range. some have a really modern UI, some dont, and some have very limited features. interestingly you cant have different types of lights (eg. strip light and a smart globe) working together for the music sync mode. I would assume this is because Mirabella buys lights from different suppliers that all use the Tuya App and while app-compatible the functions are different. i dunno.

Brightness, build quality, colours and everything about the lights themselves are good. I havent used more expensive smart lights like philiips but I have a bunch of JESLED strips and the quality is much better than those.

      • Thank you so much @Laserface for the detailed information. Seems like it's worth a punt for the price then!

  • Any brightness difference between multicoloured and warm white models?

  • Do these plug into power point, or battery? I’d imagine the cable will be messy.

    • I'd say powerpoint as they are WiFi capable.

Good point nothing I have on wifi is battery powered.

I have a similar product (the addressable version of this) and they have a USB-A plug and 240v adapter.

  • Thanks, bought a set as even with their limitations I reckon they'll look great on the christmas tree

    • +1

Yep that's my plan. But will find other uses for the rest of the year. Will hook into my Home Assistant automation to turn on when motion is detected in the room to light up the tree whenever someone is there.

      • Darn, you just finally gave me something to do with my Wyze motion sensor, even if it's only at Christmas time. Gracias.

  • Thanks Op bought some

      • +1

pssst do you want to see my balls in other colours too?

  • Suitable for indoor or outdoor use only!

  • Thanks OP, bought a few!

Mine arrived this morning and I am going to return them.

The issue is the "ball" diffusers on the LEDs. Or the lack thereof. Just in the box there were 50+ of the balls that had fallen off the LEDs. Picking up the lights (not even unravelling them) causes more balls to fall off.

They are glued on rather than being press fit, and I have no desire to glue 100+ balls back on. Even if I did, it would likely keep shedding more over time. The LEDs look very different without the balls, so it is not really an option to just leave them off.

Pulling them all off isn't practical either, since some have heaps of glue. To the point glue is smeared all over them.

The actual lights work fine though. Not RGB of course (as expected). The pic on the box (and online) makes it seem like there are more shades / colours than there are. It has 4 colours - green, blue, red and yellow. Connecting to the app is easy and the controls work well. It's pretty basic, and you can't automatically change or schedule different flash / fade modes.

You can dim the LEDs, but they have quite noticeable flickering at low brightness.

Overall these are super disappointing for a Genio product. I have various of the other Genio lights (including string lights) and while they are not always amazing quality, none of them have deal breaker issues like this.

    • Oh that's really poor workmanship! Mustn't have been paying enough to the workers. Hope mine aren't like that

      • The frustrating thing is that these issues are likely why Catch is selling them cheap. They just fob the issues off on the buyer, and figure they will make more money selling off the dodgy stock even if there are some returns.

It's not just catch either. Bunnings is terrible for it right now. They obviously bought heaps of lower quality product lines during Covid supply chain issues, and are now discontinuing them because of the problems. But they just mark them down in price as sell them off as if they are fine, and make it the customers problem. You can return them, but it is such a waste of time.

I'd second this info. Just got mine delivered today. Unlike you, I had just 3 of the globes unglued right out of the box.

Also don't know if it was the way they portrayed the listing with all those "multicolour" tags or my dumb self who was expecting it to have changeble colours even with just 4 shades would have been fine. But apparently its just 4 fixed shades without the ability to change the colour in whatsoever way.

Still thinking of keeping it as $20 bucks is not worth the effort of returning it for me.

      • I asked for a replacement, but they were out of stock, so just refunded me and didn't want the lights back.

I did make sure to include plenty of pics of the issues.
