Quick somebody post the 3060ti and 3070 as their own individual deals and complete the set of rip off posts

It's hard to see 3090 at this price when Nvidia price that 4080 12gb at 1500$ lol, I'll choose the 3090 over it any day

    • Its got the advantage of clock speeds which is good at lower res like 2K and UWQHD, and then DLSS3. Its probably a better card as it will eventually get more optimizations than 3k cards. But I agree, even 3090 is one solid card!

      • Yeah we are talking about 3090 at a hypothetical price of 1000$. DLSS3 and all the stuffs you said isn't really worth 50% more the price.

        • Definitely not and we shouldnt even buy them and support nvidia.

  • I read on some youtube comments that this card overheats/crashes?

Runs out of ram in 1920x1080 in Cyberpunk with everything maxed and DLSS off. Runs out of ram in Far Cry 6 at higher res with everything maxed. In both cases while it has the grunt to play the lack of ram turns your fps into a slideshow. There are more games that have issues also. Don't buy one. I recently replaced my 10g 3080 with a cheap second hand 3090 and no issues anymore

This was why I got a 6900xt way back, 10GB of vram isn't going to cut it when next gen consoles have 16GB and fast SSDs with direct storage compression. So far I haven't found one game that needs more than 16GB of vram. Nvidia have a habit of doing this, I got burned years ago with a 970 and its memory issues, gpu was grunty enough to run games but lack of vram made it a stutter fest.

The current gen consoles don't, strictly speaking, have 16GB of VRAM. They have 16GB of unified RAM, shared as system RAM and VRAM. Games could only use 16GB VRAM if the rest of the system used 0.

        • True that, but console ports to PC arent that optimised and come with high resolution texture pack wrecking vram.

        • Games have around 10GB of vram, 4GB for game code, OS uses 2GB. A 3080 is at the limit using console settings, if you want higher quality presets which we like on PC, you'll easily go over the 10GB.

This is why 16GB works well on PC, I've found games will max out around 12-14GB using ultra quality settings. Expected when console games are using medium/high presets. 24GB is overkill right now, 16Gb seems plenty.

:O I play Cyberpunk at 1080p 60fps DLSS RTX Ultra with RTX3060, it was fine. I thought 3080 would be much better

cheap second hand 3090 and no issues

how much was it ? I am looking for one too

      • Does your 3060 have 8 or 12gb ram?

        • 12 GB

          • @bazingaa: So is 12 or 10 the bigger number?

            • +1

@iseeyou1312: but memory bandwidth is low in 3060

              • @bazingaa: Memory bus and size aren't interchangeable. If you don't have enough VRAM to load all textures, etc…, you don't have enough VRAM. Being able to feed the GPU faster won't help.
