Surprised no one has posted this yet

    Because it's $89!

someone tell him he is not grabbing a bargain on this one

  • +1

Still overpriced IMO, they do work well tho.

    • +3

They don't work well at all. My last set drifted in under 20 hours of use. I don't treat them rough or play party games yet I've had 5 of 6 start to drift.

My Hori however is still going strong. But no wireless or nfc :/

      • Agreed about the Hori. It's much better than the official stuff. More comfortable and they actually work. I wouldn't buy more Nintendo joycon. I'll look at the Hori Compact next.

      • Have had my oled switch for a year or so and never an issue here.

        • Yeah it's weird. Had my switch since launch and then traded in for OLED.

I've had 8 individual joycon in that time and the only ones that malfunctioned were the ones I dropped on a tiled floor while connected to the console. That was my fault. Aside from that, no drift 🤷🏻‍♂️

Would it kill them to make them both the same colour?

    • +4

      Then someone will say

Would it kill them to make them both different colour?

      • Sure, but the option to have matching colours wouldn't hurt. I have the Neon from the Big W deal and it annoys me. Would have got White if I had the chance.

        • They had neon yellow matching pair about 3 years ago

      • In Japan only (customisable through Nintendo club) iirc rolls eyes

Their colour choices are so bad. I find purple/orange the best of the bunch

      • -1

would it kill them to swap the colours to the other controller?

    • +2

FWIW, the neon Blue/Red set is opposite to what the neon switch includes, so if you get that switch and the same colour combo JoyCon as a pack, then you end up with the ability to have matching blue or red JoyCon.

Not as good as $67.50 when they had gamesmen ones priced matched at jb with 10% off ^^

I have so many broken joycons. Absolute junk. Yet my NES from 1990 still works.

    • How broken are they

      • +4

For me the common issue is drifting - a lot of them are doing it.

        • Damn. I looked it up, the 2022 ones can also get that happening

        • +1

I’ve got about 7 sets. I figured once I get enough and learn how to fix them, it will be worth it ^^

      • Right one no longer connects wirelessly on 2 sets. All 3 sets drift.

        • Aren't you supposed to be able to get Nintendo to repair these under the Consumer Guarantee?

          • @Helmuth: From what I've heard - nope if you are in Australia.

    • Mainly because things become complicated thus more reasons to break . Just like life~ keep things simple

  • +6

Someone Please tell him it’s not Cheap

    • and spoil the surprise?

  • +2

I bought a pro controller instead, to use when playing on the good ole TV in docked mode.

    • -1

8bitdo pro 2 is cheaper and can be used with many other devices

      • Hmm - that might be true, but the nintendo original is guaranteed support for many updates and perhaps even device revisions to come.

I've heard rumors that 3rd party controllers could lose support from by the switch getting a simple firmware update.

Besides, the switch pro controller works with my PC…

  • The neon red/blue and green/pink are available for the same price.
