Measure your chest (in inches), but I'd hazard a guess at 40L or 42L depending on your build.
Check page 46 at http://www.customcorporate.com.au/catalogues/VanHeusen.pdf
Too risky if you can't try them on. Go to a menswear shop and pretend to be looking to buy a suit, and have them measure you, then say you want to "look around" first. Then buy based on what they told you.
Very few sizes left, most are out of stock.
Just a note, orders wont dispatch for another few weeks. I ordered one which isn't coming for 1 month (bit of a surprise as I didn't read anywhere else it would take so long).
Good that you have pointed this out. I've been waiting for my Havaianas from Jump On It for 8 or 9 months now, still waiting. No response to my request for a refund too.
Just found http://help.buyinvite.com.au/customer/portal/articles/406134… which explains why it takes so long.
They don't hold any stock and are essentially group buying the items. That's fair enough, I suppose, but I would prefer if it was more upfront than it currently is, but they do admit "our delivery is typically slower than other websites".
A note on the suits - they are good quality and good value. I purchased a Van Heusen from Myer for $385 ($549 less 30%) some years ago and it's served me well since. I'm going for a different cut and colour, so $160.50 delivered is definitely good for a 100% wool 2 trouser suit.
The sizes are only plain numbers… There's no S, R, L (eg. 100S, 100R, 100L). It's gonna be a hassle to have it altered. Their return/exchange policy is not amusing too.. No exchange and cancellation. All returns will only be provided with store credit. Please cmiiw
I bought one then ended up panicking when I saw the size guide above. I went back on the website and went to My Account, clicked on my order and seems like you can change your suit pant sizes. Phew. Adjusted mine to the correct size so hopefully it'll work out.
"You are able to change the size of your ordered items on our website only whilst the sale is still running and pending availability of the size you require."
http://help.buyinvite.com.au/customer/portal/articles/406061…Where you able to keep the original jacket size and change just the pants size to whichever one you wanted?
Irownpaw, I don't think you can change your suit pants size, I believe you are changing the jacket size which as a corresponding pant size.
Eg, if the title said "Regular" and your size is "Size 96", you are getting a 96R jacket with 84R pants. As these are sold as a set, you can't mix and match.
Oops my bad.. I think they have provided it in the title of each item. It just that they seem to have an error in saying "straight" instead of "small" to corresponds "S"
- I meant short, not small
There are long and regular that I saw. They're listed as different items, so if you buy black pinstripe long in a 100, it's a 100L.
Has anyone purchased from this site before?
Was about to ask the exact same thing. I've never heard of them before. Although I've kind of gone ahead and put down for a suit… Hope it all works out.
I found a 2010 discussion of this site on whirlpool, pretty short and contained mixed reviews. So it has been aroound for a bit.
So if I wear a 100 long jacked and 88 long pants I can't choose that combination? From what I can tell you can just pick the one size.
Hmm, maybe I've just answered my own question, the 100 jacket comes with 88 pants according to the size chart. Do I have that right?
The measurements reflect width not length (except jacket its both width and length I think). Nothing a few buckets of ice cream cant fix in the spirit of a true oz bargainer.
Mackaxx, my 100R Van Heusen comes with 88R pants. Following the chart, a 100L would come with 100L pants (with longer sleeves and in seam).
Cheers, I've gone with the regular anyway as I think the arms in my long are just a bit too long. I always need to take up the pants a little anyway so why not cut out the tailor.
If it all goes pear shaped I'll break even with gumtree or ebay.
Err - slight correction to my post above, 88 pants (width), not 100L heh. Hope you worked that out as misleading as it was :)
Funny but all I read was 100r 88r, my mind kind of brushed past the 100l 100l mistype. So yes, worked it out and all is well. Thanks though
They weren't kidding when they stated it takes a while to fulfil orders. By now one would have thought the cotton have been harvested from the farm and nearly processed.
As fate would have it I just recieved an email from buy invite stateing they had been short supplied and I would not be receiving my order. I've been given a $10 store credit in light of this. Disappointing but que sera.
Well to set the record straight I will never deal with this mob again. Absolute rubbish .
PS: Van Heusen suits go for like 90 bucks in the states and these are wool blends by the way not 100% wool as stated above or anywhere near it.
did anyone get their suit? Seems like they wasn't enough to supply the deal and I got a credit?
I want my $$$ back not credit to use on their crappy site!
I lodged a complaint with NSW Fair Trade, not only they cant supply one suit but the other one is not as described check the model number against the Van Huesen catalogue classic cuts are being sold as european cuts (more expensive). They want to issue store credits refund told them to keep their crappy store credit. Raised dispute with CC as well, this mob is dodgy as hell.
You are entitled for a refund don't listen to their bs about terms and conditions. Would love to neg this thread to warn future buyers.
Yeah their Customer Service Officer responded that I am not entitled to a refund since the original order was paid for in store credit. This was due to the fact that the original order I paid for via CC had to be exchanged for a differnt sized suit.
In the end they didn't come through with the goods so and if they don't refund my $$$ in the next three days I'm raising a CC dispute.
Thanks for pointing out the classic cut being delivered as the european cut. I'll have to double check when I get home but remember seeing the orginal price tag on the suit was $549 not $649.
I thought the suit looked pretty decent anyway but was tight compared to my other suites of the same size, especially under the arms.
Uw, I sent the ACCC a complaint for their bait and switch advertising and being too arrogant about issuing refunds. Don't bother wasting time with fair trade. http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/54217/
I got my suit - very nice!
Hi, I'm interested in buying but not too sure what my suit size is.
I am 192cm tall, weigh 94kg and my shirts are 41 collar and 92 sleeve length. Would anyone know how to convert that to suit sizes?
Thanks
