So everyone into NBA probably knows you can get league pass for around half this price with a VPN. I used Brazil last season for around $100AUD for premium (which lets you watch on 2 devices at same time plus get a full play by play replay of each game that condenses down to about 30 mins).

But for those that don't want to use a VPN to signup for whatever reason, the league pass pricing in Australia has significantly reduced (off memory used to be like $400+). At this price, I'd have no issues paying Aus pricing if for whatever reason the VPN method stopped working.

UPDATE: those using VPN last season (myself included) I'm unsure if it will work upcoming season with the new apps. When I sign in it doesn't recognise my subscription (on android phone and amazone fire tv). However not sure if that's just because my subscription hasn't renewed yet or what. Don't think I've had that issue prior years though before season started

          scratch all of the above. i tried again on a web browser and my subscription is now showing and games working no problem! same on my andoird phone and google TV app. wonder if it was an account thing that just needed to synch/refresh after the recent 'renewal'

        Been read on this thread….and noticed tou replied but have somewhat of a similar situation other than subscriptions (mines from SA)

        Just wanna sus out from my end… since i used paypal last year im set to renew in the 28th oct…

        On top of this, i have an android phone, chromecast and ps that has the NBA app.

        When i use my phone, it's not identifying my sub on the NBA app and not allowing me to watch games…. and i have not enable location sharing since th nba app has updated. Did you enable the location sharing? And once i do will it affect my geo-blocking?

        On top of that i havent cancelled my sub yet too..
        Just confused, as i some of my mate reached out to me too about this.

        Also, havent checked my chromecast or tried on my laptop yet. I just wanna watch the bloody preseason games -.- … let alone this season movinf forward

      yep when I tried using my credit card I just kept getting "You have reached your maximum unsuccessful attempts allowed, please try again later" Worked with paypal though. But I was really hoping to get a Turkey or Argentina sub working as its only $30-$40 for the year!

    I'm trialling the Australian league pass right now. Do they really charge you to watch AND fill the broadcast full of ads?? Tell me this is just a trial thing…

      When you watch a game, you're getting the national broadcast (eg. TNT, ESPN, etc) or local broadcast (eg. NBC Sports California) depending who is airing which particular game

      In past seasons, when the broadcast had a commercial break, it would either show the jumbo tron footage at the stadium (eg. dance cam and all that) or just have a blank screen that says something like "commercial break".

      However I noticed pre-season games this year have the american commercials (which I thought they couldn't show to international audiences due to licensing). To be honest I'd rather that than the blank screen though. We'll see next week when the regular season actually starts.

    Hi all, please forgive my ignorance. just trying to get a proper understanding.

    If I vpn it using Argentina. and i go to nba league pass website. Do I create an account while im showing I'm in "Argentina" leaving out my address?

    The next question is it's showing season league pass is 2879.99 per year. I take it that is the Argentina currency? it has a $ sign in front of it and I wasn't sure how the currency was depicted.

    I would appreciate any advice. thank you

    I have managed to sign up via Turkey!
    It's starting with a free trial so will have to see if it stays working
    Used Edge (I usually use Chrome) making sure all cookies were deleted (I don't think I even had any anyway) and VPN Unlimited to get to Turkey. I had created a Turkey NBA ID previously when trying so used that as well.
    Previous times I had got to payment and it rejected my CC. That was using Express VPN and Chrome and incognito mode.
    Maybe it will bomb out again after the free trial but it's appearing like progress.
    I have been able to log in via app on Android not using VPN - seems to be working. Was able to use no VPN on laptop too to watch a replay - I assume replays you need league pass for?
    Real test is still going to be watching a game after the free trial
    Cost is about $29 AUS via Turkey

          What vpn protocol are you using?
          I tried with Surfshark under different protocols through Argentina, South Africa and Turkey servers.
          Most times the nba page doesn't load up at all. When it loads, it locates me in the US, or at least prices are all in US dollars.
          Has anyone faced and solved this problem?

            @gigaprot: I don't know about protocols but did you try removing cookies or using incognito mode?
            I did have the same thing but I'm not sure if it was using edge (I'd say that helped just in regards to cookies from chrome) or a different vpn that ended up working

                @gigaprot: The other thing I tried was creating a new league pass ID and it was based in Turkey. You need a different email address of course, I have my Turkey Gmail account for all my Turkey subscriptions

                  @AshCloud: After a few attempts, it seems it worked with Turkey server. When I paid I got an error message but then when I tried again it said that the account already had a subscription for that year. I ended up upgrading to the premium, just to make sure and I can see the subscription in my account. Let's see if and how much I'll be charged in 7 days.
                  I can't see the subscription on the app, but it seems that it's a common issue for now

    I've been playing around for weeks trying to get it to accept payments.

    previously had a sub in South Africa. didn't auto renew because card expired and it wouldn't let me update it at all.

    after reading these couple of comments above i tried nord vpn on the phone in chrome incognito to turkey.
    accepted my MasterCard and I'm in the 7 day trial. real test will come when they try and charge the card in 7 days

    Trying to renew as I had it set to Algerian Dinars for the last year or 2 for $60~ AUD and it has Paypal set as my payment method and it's greyed out..
    Uder manage plan it says "There was an error processing your payment. Please update your payment method."

    Supposed to auto renew on the 18th and I contacted support but they said to just update on Paypal (Which I can't)…

    I was also successful in signing up for a league pass through Turkey.

    NordVPN & TunnelBear didn't work for me. Worked with KeepSolid VPN. Used my Wise card (created a Turkish account). Get charged on the 26th.

    Got to sign up as well from Turkey using an ANZ visa card using NordVPN and Edge. No need to go Incognito/InPrivate. Managed to play GSWvLAL as well via AppleTV.

    So it seems that league pass doesn’t support ChromeOS anymore since they updated the app - not even through the Chrome browser, or when trying to watch through the Android NBA app.

          Yep, still an issue for me. League pass basically sucks now (in my experience). Won’t work through ChomeOS and I can’t wait up to five minutes for games to actually load when watching on iOS.

    I can't express how bad the new apps for NBA LP are now. It is not worth more than the $30 I am spending.

    I opened the app on Google TV with Chromecast to watch a game tonight and even though the scores were set to off, the headline on the homepage gave away the result. What is the bloody point.

    Can't watch a condensed game either on the Google TV app either. Only option is full game or a 2 minute recap. Ended up Chromecasting from my phone to watch the 10 minute condensed.

    Not impressed so far

    so im same boat with those that can't get Paypal renewal payment to work… was done through South Africa last year.
    Just cancelled it. VPN to Turkey, used same login to do the 7 day trial and used my Amex Charge card. Will see what happens in a weeks time.
    Going for the Premium sub so my mate and i can hopefully split the $40 odd hahaha

      I had similar issue, 7 day trial should have ended, NBA kept emailing me saying they couldn't charge my card (commbank card), but I could keep watching for another week until they made my subscription inactive yesterday.

        It's 3/11/22 and I can still watch till this day.. for free. I have not been emailed about any cards unable to be charged, nor have I been charged. I am getting emails from the NBA in Turkish though.

          They accepted the card, for the first week they said I had a trial, now it doesn't say anywhere that I have a subscription (even on desktop browser), but I can play everything just fine, even on multiple devices. Haven't charged me anything, and I haven't received any emails.

    Why did they update the app for league pass it's horrible now.
    It keeps asking for access to location services, I allow it (checked my settings multiple times), but still asks for it and doesn't allow me to see the games.

    On the TV, the NBA app will sometimes not load the games so have force stop via settings and reopen for it to work

    The new video player sucks too, used to skip like 10 seconds - 10- 30- 1 minute etc the longer you press the skip button, now it's just 10 seconds.

    Pre-season I ran into the "couldn't process your payment" issues when subscribing via Turkey but when the season started it accepted my card and started my 7 day trial.
    The 7 day trial came to a close and was getting emailed that NBA couldn't charge my card, it did that for about a week but I could still watch (even past my trial) and then yesterday they cut off my active status.
    I'm back to square one with the "couldn't process your payment" error when trying to purchase through Turkey with Commbank cards.
    Has anyone had any success with an Australian card/non-online bank card (UP/Revolut/28 degrees etc.)?

      I used my Up. No issues with it at all anymore. Even plays well on the new app on the TVs and phone. Haven't had the issues others are reporting with the new app

        I have not, I'll attempt a roommates card over the weekend and see if someone other than my Commbank cards work, from reading a few of these threads revolut and up and all that seem to work fine but I'd rather not sign up for one of those services if I can avoid it. Worse case I'll give it a shot but just haven't had a chance to try anything else yet.

    Does anyone else get Euros or Dollars when trying to sign up via Turkey, South Africa, or Argentina?
    I am using Bitdefender VPN and Chrome incognito.

    Argentina = $99.99 (can't tell if USD)
    Turkey = 99.99 Euros
    South Africa = 119.99 Euros

      It means the VPN you're using has a "virtual server" in all those countries which NBA is seeing straight through. Same happens with ExpressVPN. If you googled "where am I" it would probably say the Netherlands or something.
