Aw man, I bought just the nailgun a few weeks back.
It's a pretty decent unit, fun to slam some nails in things…

  • +5

    Who is Brad?

    • +4

      You nailed it.

    • +2

Brad nailers are for lightweight non-structural work. The nails are small, thin, and weak.

Honestly I wouldn't bother unless you are in the market for one.

      • +3

Good for skirting boards, window trim etc?

        • +1

          Exactly, trims/scotia etc

        • +2

Yep, just finished borrowing my mates for exactly this. Replaced all architraves and skirting boards. Works great.

  • brad and your mum say 'hi'

  • $20 savings isn't much but I desperately need one, for a few days maximum and then never in foreseeable future. do we have a better option

    • +1

If my maths is correct it is $159 saving. Quite good for me :-)

      • +9

        $159 saving

        My maths says $249 spending.

        • I like the way you think. Why not sell individual items and make it to a profit of $50 :-)

    • +2

Usual price of the skin (ie no battery) is $269. So it is $20 less than the skin plus you get a battery and charger.

      • +2

I already have 5 chargers though.

@franco cozzo: You mean open a Ryobi museum one day?

  • WOW! i was searching for the best price for a ryobi brad nailer.

the only question is if i need a 18ga or 16ga, for reinstalling the skirting board (after removing them for installation of floating floor). Can anyone comment?

    • +1

I bought the 16 awhile back. It’s been great for skirting etc. My theory was it’s a little more all purpose but I’m sure the 18 would be great for skirting too.

    • +1

18ga and the Brad will be pretty invisible won't even need filler. Then wait for ryobi to get a framer and I can retire my paslodes.

      • +1

If TTI have learnt from their Milwaukee and AEG framing nailers the Ryobi should be pretty good.

Bought the Milwaukee a year ago, it's been fantastic. Needed something for a fence I was building, so compressor and air nailer (both of which I'd have to buy) would have been awkward. Coworker had constant trouble with his paslodes, so I went for the milwaukee.

        • Yep why I'm hoping they have one released soon with their HP range. I'm over my paslodes, I don't use them frequently enough and need to buy a new cartridge eveytime

        • I have the 16 GA Ryobi myself and its brilliant.

    • +1

I've got the 18ga and have used it for 1" thick baseboard. It will definitely the job.

  • +1

This is a deleted/clearance line and can be found marked down even further.

Someone on the My Ryobi community fb page posted one for sale at their local bunnings for $199. AFIK each store sets their own clearance pricing and there seems to be a big Ryobi clearance sell-off of sorts so go check out your local bunnings.

    • I searched the powepass app for random locations and comes with the same price. Is it the same model for $199?

    • +1

Grabbed one from my local Bunnings for $149. I don't need it right now, but could not walk past it at that price.

      • which store ?

      • Cud you provide some proof of purchase (receipt) so we cud use that for price match!? I wud appriciate that.
        Thanks

  • For those who don't urgently need one and only for the odd job (if that) can always hold out for the Workzone Aldi Special Buy which (pre-inflation anyway) was $99 for the skin only, and can do staples too.

  • Cant find the kit on their website. Shall i go into the store? The stock check in the OP's description does thow there are stock in my local bunnings

    • Not on the website as it's a deleted line. If nearby website shows it is in stock, it generally will mean they have stock.

I'd call them and check the pricing tbh to save a trip in there. Worth mentioning other locations seem to have them for $199 and is there any wiggle room on their clearance price … can't hurt.

  • $299 in my local store :(

    PS.

scanned at $249. Not as good as $180, but good enough :)

  • I just picked up the last one at my local for $180

    • +1

If anybody wanted the receipt for this at $180 you can try your luck but looks like people got it even cheaper at $150 https://ibb.co/myZ0pdT

      • Thanks for the receipt! Managed to get it for $180 at Croydon. Still had 3 in stock when I left.

Staff at Bayswater refused to price match, so I think it depends on if they're having a good day.

      • Thanks for the receipt. Didn't work in Mackay North. I asked "do you price match?" Young lady says "Yes!" I show her the receipt. She frowns before saying "I can't price match that, sorry." "You can't match the price of one of your own stores?" I ask. "Ummmm, no. It costs more money to ship stock to other places." I still got it for $200, so I'm happy. Six more left in stock.

  • I'm guessing this one is a bit weak sauce?

  • Shows me $129 but no stock in Mel south east

  • Fyi my local Bunnings says the price was $299 so $50 saving.

  • Good for Christmas time

  • Just get one on $209,Not the cheapest, already lucky.

    • Cud you provide a receipt so i cud use for price match in my store? I wud appriciate thanks

      • This is an in-store promotion, other stores will not match the price.
I asked about the Ryobi brushless three-piece set, and it is still sold at $399, and not match the $199 promotion price in Scoresby store.

  • I had one for a year and very happy with it.

On a related question, where can I get the green tips(so you don’t stretch the material)? I lost mine , and Bunnings don’t sell them.

    • EBay, should be generic size

    • Did you lose both of them? Because there is a spare one on the right side of the magazine.

  • Wish their 23Ga pin nailer was available in this country (https://www.ryobitools.com/products/details/33287173310) - it used to be, not sure why it is not any more. I have this 18Ga brad nailer, has worked without a hitch. Pretty happy with it.

  • Highly recommend these guns, they're fun too

    • Yes, also a lot more fun than hitting your thumb with a hammer

  • Oh dear, I paid $299 a couple of weeks ago.

    • Still a decent deal given the tool only is $269 now.

  • My powerpass showed it is $125, but no stock.

    • I recon you got the wrong item? mine says 249..

      • Exactly the same item, price is $124.50.

        • that's…. amazing… how did you get it for half price….

        • Cud you provide a copy of receipt so we cud use to price match!? Wud appriciate that thanks

    • Which store shows at $125 in the app? I tried multiple stores where people reported a lower price and they're all showing for me as $249.

I'm wondering if its related to my account or the store data. If yours is showing 125 then that's an easy test :)

  • $249 at Edwardstown even with Powerpass. They have heaps so might drop further

  • $199 at Padstow. Still a few left this morning.

    • Just rang Padstow and they confirmed (on phone) price is $249. How did you manage the kit for $199 ?

      • My app shows $249 at Padstow too… and I've called some stores and they're all saying $249.

      • The shelf ticket says $249 but there's a sticker on the back of the box for $199 so I think they overrode the shelf price after scanning.

        • Got a pic by chance? I don't think I've ever seen a "sticker price" override on a Bunnings product in my life. Quite curious!

  • ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Just a question for my knowledge. In terms of pricing and goods availability, what are the advantages of Bunnings PowerPass ? Do people generally get discount on RRP with PowerPass ?

    • +1

Yes. Normally its around 2 - 5% depending on the product range. Some are 0% (like Ryobi One+ :) )

They've introduced a new program which is based on spend ("loyalty") so your discount goes up when you go up in tiers. I think it's still in trial until the end of the year?

  • Just grabbed one for $249. Returned the one bought a couple weeks ago for $299 which was still unopened. Nice savings.

  • Thanks, managed to pick one up at $125.

    • Which store was this from? Thanks.

      • Hawthorn in Melbourne, but I think it was the last one.

        • Ok thank you. Interestingly, Hawthorn is showing as $125 in the powerpass app.

          • @AaronR: Any other stores showing cheaper than 249$ in melbourne ?

            • @JTasko: Couldn't see any after switching between a few. Same in Brisbane where I looked at even more. Hawthorn was the first/only store I saw with a discounted price in the Powerpass app.

              • @AaronR: The Altona store has it listed as $125.01, and apparently had one in stock. Went there, asked and apparently they had received a few calls before me. Looked around and couldnt find it.

With that said, went to a nearby store, asked and they let me walk away with it for $150. =] Even though it scanned in at $249.

            • @JTasko: Thomastown is showing as $124.50 with low stock.

        • +1

This morning Moorabbin had 3, so I called up the store and asked if they'd price match Altona or Thomastown, the front desk girl said no, but she eventually put me through to the tool shop manager and he said he was happy to price match it. So I went to pick up 2 for $125 each, and there's still 1 sitting there.

    • I don't think this is even possible in any WA Stores.

  • this might be a sign the new 18GA nail gun is coming to our shores soon! The next one will be brushless.

    • No this was just a father's day bundle. They need to release a framer. It's time

  • Anyone can upload the invoice of $125 for price match?

  • +2

Virginia in north Brisbane dropped their price to $99 - they said they still have 4 left.

    https://ibb.co/JBgNqFk

  • Does anyone know if there is any store in WA which is sellling it lower than $249?

    • Price match with my receipt. Uploaded above

    • I'm having similar luck in SA, no one is selling below $249 - I asked about price matching other stores and they said it's store by store for clearance…

  • Got the last one at Kingsgrove for $100

  • +1

Just got one in SA at Munno Parra West for $125. The bloke there marked it down for me. They have one left in stock with the same price sticker on it if someone gets there quick.

    • called them, none left, tried modbury, who had one left as well and got offended I wanted it for the same price.

Apparantly $20 off full price was "cheap" and that they've got "plenty of space and in no rush" so they're happy to drop it by $20 a week until it sells.

So guess we'll see it sitting on the shelf there for about 5 or 6 weeks
