Yep
This is an extension unit, so it will need a base unit with a power supply, and a hue hub to control it.
Need a hub and you must have one base lily unit. So this base unit has a single light and importantly the 9v converter box
9v converter box
These are 24v dc right? Not 9v?
The description mentions it includes a power supply, presume that is incorrect? Looking at the questions, it comes with the t-connector and not the power supply.
Hi sorry yes 24v. No power supply
Bunnings is price matching these and also sell a 100w power base.
Recently bought a bunch of these for a fencing project. Bought the 100w power base separately and these extension lights (as well as the Lily XL, and some Calla extensions).
You can connect via Bluetooth to an individual lily light within the Hue app without using the hub. But if you want to control many, you'll need the hub.
I bought a bunch of the starter kits (with the small PSU) when Bunnings were selling them for $50 - they're great for what they are, but they're not incredibly bright. Really just useful for feature lighting. Having said that, I love the Hue ecosystem and when you put a bunch of them together they can produce some pretty magical effects.
Do these work stand alone or do they need a hub to work?
