  • Wow thats really cheap for business class, i paid roughly the same for eco one way

More than adequate business class seat to get a good rest, but dont expect lounge access, amazing food or alcoholic drinks. You'll be very disappointed if you purchase this expecting the typical business / first class experience, but still a very good product to get to your destination feeling fresh

  • Seats are good, but beware if they cancel the flight on you, its an absolute nightmare dealing with Airasia. Especially when the only reason given for cancellation is "unexpected reasons", which travel insurance doesn't cover. Happened to me once with Airasia.

    • What happened in the end?

      • Took 6 months to get the refund for the cancelled return part of the flight. Countless calls and emails to airasia repeatedly giving my bank details. Worst was that their emails are noreply. So you have to go back to the webform and fill it out again and wait a week or 2 for another no reply response. Insurance wouldn't cover it. Said they were aware of the situation and some dodgy thing that airasia had done and that all other insurance companies were not going to cover it either. So I was $1200 out of pocket for booking a one way flight back to Melbourne. It didn't matter which airline they all jacked the prices up as soon as they had heard airasia had cancelled all these flights

        • That mega sucks. Sorry to hear.

@nuts: That experience was enough to put me off flying airasia again! Which is a pity as their business seats were comfy!

  • 9h35 layover in Bangkok in the afternoon too

Not necessarily a bad thing :)

  • Just remember Air Asia is still a LCC.

Pretty much a nice almost lay flat seat and an economy meal and basically just water for drinks

Thai airways suck .. they treat you like cattle at their transit airport

lucky this deal is not for Thai airways

sorry my complaint was more towards the airport staff at Bangkok. PTSD kicked in when i read Thai in context of flights

        • Could you elaborate? I booked Thai Airways for a trip in December, and this is first time I will be flying with them

          • @Iwantthatbargain: If you've already booked the tickets, i wouldn't worry about it. It's not too bad, just that i personally prefer alternate transit where possible. But to answer your question, i was yelled at for not understanding the airport staff (speaking their native tongue) wanting me to show them the power bank as they needed to check the size. Apparently you can't take more than 30000mah, luckily mine was 20000. Also my partner was yelled at for having a makeup item, i think it was a nail-polish, apparently it's liquid and got thrown in the bin. Also i saw another passenger being denied to take the 2 bottles of duty-free whisky he bought from the airport, at a make-shift security checkpoint just before boarding gate. He decided to just go back and return them. I saw a few bottles in the bin, so some people might have complied after paying for the merch. That was absolutely ridiculous.

            • @freewhere: Thanks mate. Another person PMed me and messaged very similar experience they had.

  • Flew economy return to KL and then AirAsiaX return to Paris in 2009. It was great as I actually slept on a plane on the way to Paris. They then cancelled future flights to London and Paris due to ‘fuel costs’.
