These look a lot like what I picked up from Woolies for a similar price. Dunno if I just got duds but they are absolute garbage. Reeeaaally tough to connect/disconnect.

Yeah the aldi hose stuff is rubbish. But in good news, it should make some Bunnings hose stuff cheaper.

Like clockwork, last weekend cleaned my backyard and saw these same 4 items still in the plastic packaging, from an earlier purchase!! :)

Hoes at $9.99 is a bit overpriced these days

Inflation. Inflatable hoes are probably cheaper though.

      • +1

Yeah but they get you with the puncture kit

If you think $9.99 is expensive, you wouldn't believe how much they go for in St Kilda these days.

Even the plastic connectors are $2 at Burning so this is a no-brainer.
The Aldi quality is better than the cheaper ones sold in Bunnings.

I purchased the ALDI Workzone 3pc Set ( Retractable Knife plus 2 Cutters), 10 Spare Blades For Each Knife for $6.99 and the quality is very good. But was sold for $3.99 in 2019 !

I feel Aldi's products are overall better quality than Bunning's from the cheaper section.

    • Burnings your ass ..

i have a couple of these ones, they do work, and the rubber rings wears out easily, which isn't a big issue as you can get replacement rings for it. Much better option than the $5 plastic jokes sold in bunnings.

  • can't comment on the quality of either set but seems to be a brass bunnings set for same price (as standard)

    • I've never seen this type of set at Bunnings and certainly the single components are at nearly $10 each.

      e.g.
      https://www.bunnings.com.au/holman-12-x-20-25mm-brass-bsp-ta…

I am sure the $10 per part set are nicer, might even have one kicking around.
Like i said, i can't comment onthe quality of the $10 aldi special vs the $10 bunnings set, but it seems to be its typical price

        • Nice! I have never seen these in store. Maybe I need to look harder.

I don't know about this particular product but the Aqua brand garden sprayer was absolute garbage. It didn't properly work even once.

  • These are s***. Mine broke within 2 uses. The inner spring assembly pops out and does not reassemble.

    • Agreed, I haven't had a great experience with them. Quality plastic ones from Bunnings (the ones with UV-proof coating that don't disintegrate) are far superior.

  • using this for a couple years no issues… they dont look shiny anymore

    • +1

you can polish them with brasso if you wish :P

but fading this is a better option compared to plastic ones that disintegrate under the sun.

  • Have had these for probably half a decade and they are bulletproof. The only issue is that when taking off the spray part, water doesn't flow. So if I want to use the hose but without the spray attachment, then I have to take off the entire accessory which is a pain. I've also cut my fingers on it a couple of times taking the parts off the hose

    • just so you know, one way valves are way more expensive feature to have in a brass fitting… you can always plug in another no-valve adapter in the middle and you'll get the effect you want anyway.

so people comparing with the $10 set in bunnings kind of missed comparing this feature.

      • Label me uneducated on this but I didn't know that was an actual feature. I've never used a hose fitting with this feature so it was definitely annoying as I prefer the flow rather than spray of water when washing my cars.

        • i think different uses, for washing cars, you might get reported by nosy neighbours if you do it without a trigger spray in nsw.. for watering lawn/garden, at least for me, i don't want to get my feet wet :)

          • @slowmo: Without a trigger spray in NSW? Is there a water shortage? Surely not.

            • @khrome: ymmv. i personally don't have an issue. i do have encountered instances where people outright complain about me leaving the water running, even when i'm holding on to the hose.
