  • how to get The Good Guys Commercial Account?

    • +1

One way to get was through Sunsuper (now ART). Thats how I got mine

    • +2

I got it through Rest Super. Don't need to use them or anything, just create an account.

Looks like they have a maximum surge protection rating of 650 Joules, which is not much. I certainly wouldn't trust this to protect my PC or laptop. Perhaps smaller devices such as phone chargers or routers, but nothing substantial. I use an 8-port CyberPower 2750 Joule surge protector I bought on eBay for $36 which is arguably much better value than this listing. The problem with retail stores is that they sell surge protectors with piss poor ratings with an absurd markup to people who don't know any different.

    • its got warranty to replace items damaged so

      • +3

Yeah and how does the warranty actually work (hoops you need to jump through and the limitations).

      • +1

I doubt this warranty would cover any items that are damaged with > the rated 650 Joules protection though.

maximum surge protection rating of 650 Joules

Yep it might help with some brownout fluctuations.

OTOH people in the cities & big towns probably don't many, if any big surges. The grid is a lot more stable these days. We have so many devices plugged & turned on that they all help dissipate anything. Along with 100-250v power supplies which are quite resilient to power fluctuations by design.

Ive bee using these for a few years now

Individual switching and extra wide spacing on all 4 outlets.

    • Can you share if this has a straight AC plug or angled?

      • +2

Unfortunately it's what i hate most about Aussie plugs, it sticks straight out and not a flat top.

        • +1

Actually thats what I am after LOL! I have a recessed GPO at the TV area. We built all the HDMI cables, conduit into the wall. So I need a plug that sticks straight out.

    • not in stock

  • warning, it's HUGE

      Wrong forum.

      • it's satisfying when you plug them in though.

  • If you have any indoor pets, be warned that the rocker switch can easily be pressed to cut off the power. My daughter's cat constantly stepped on it :(

  • I have been using Jackson 4-way individual switch power board for a few years and works fine for me. I got it for $10 in discount.

  • can these be daisy-chained? read surge protectors cannot thought might be exceptions between brands/models
