I think price was $79…

Got one, it does scare cats but for the dogs they think it is a nice hair dryer. Worth 59, but at 79 meh?

It's not a great leaf blower is it. Okay, but not great at, moving grass off the footpath when you mow.
On the other hand, it's very good for getting your charcoal roaring hot when lighting the weber, or getting a good clean fire going in a wood fired pizza oven

    What's the deal exactly?

    64 here with battery

    • +1

And that deal is no longer available the kit is currently $119

      • Yeah of course. Just pointing out not long ago it was a lot cheaper. That deal wasn't exactly 4 years ago. A couple of months.

        • +2

a couple of months or 4 years either way it's still not available, so irrelevant

  • +1

    I don’t know about a deal. Think I paid $89 for a blower, a hedge trimmer and battery/charger a year or 2 ago.

Had a couple of these, the battery doesn't last and a replacement costs almost as mush as the blower!!. Bought a Baumr instead the third time, much more powerful and the battery is better (2 years plus so far) AND it's on special for $99 delivered currently .. :-) .. !!

Should have just taken the battery back, they have a 3 year warranty.

      • This ^ Bunnings have replaced so many skins / batteries for my fam over the years no questions asked

    • Need to make sure you're using 4.0Ah batteries that go on sale when price matching Aldi. Delivers more power.

      • Larger capacity battery doesn’t deliver more power, only longer runtimes

        • +3

The 4.0Ah batteries are built differently there's been plenty of discussion around it in other posts. They deliver more power as well.

        • +2

More cells in parallel means lower current draw per cell. Cells will usually provide more power when drained at a slower rate.

        • +2

Try the 2ah then the 4ah in something that can pull significant current and see if you still think that's the case. 2 banks in parallel, can make a difference, more current = more power.

My wife should get this instead of a $400 Dyson for her hair.

      She vacuums her hair?

Item is a blower, not a sucker

        • +9

That change happens a lot after marriage

I bought the Ozito 2 battery variable speed with turbo boost.. I know different and more expensive, but was so worth it..

I rate it better than the Ryobi 36v Jet Blower. Which i bought on sale, solely for the 4ah battery and then sold the Blower = cheap 4ah 36v battery. Use it for when my Ryobi mower and 5ah doesn't quite finish the yard.

  • Gutless with a 2.0 battery but much better with a 4.0 i find.

    • -3

There's no difference other than how long it lasts. The 2ah battery is lighter and just requires swapping twice as often. Which isn't that often anyway if you're just using it for the occasional dust/leaf clean out in the garage etc.

No idea why you’re getting neg’d, you’re 100% right, more capacity doesn’t mean more power

        • +1

100% wrong. Having now unexpectedly acquired several ozito tools they all perform considerably better since I got a 4ah battery. Just yesterday afternoon I remarked to the mrs how the whipper snipper is a league above what I was used to with the bigger battery.

        • +1

With lithium batteries it does. The current they provide is based on the capacity rate.
          i.e. a 2ah battery could deliver 2c so 4a and a 4ah would deliver 8a.
Larger capacity will also see lower voltage drop as it discharges for the same output so will provide more power for longer even if using the exact same rate.

  • Any opinions on how the Ozito battery operated tools compare to the Ryobi suite of tools? Looking at getting blower, whipper snipper and hedger…

    • +1

They're obviously shittier but given the price and the fact Bunnings will refund easily… AND I dont use the tools often or hard enough to warrant Ryobi….

What I would recommend is buying the batteries on special… recently as low as $20 for 2.0 amp + charger and wait until Bunnnings have a 50% off skin sale.

For many of us who are ocasional home diy, we can get by with the non pro tools.

The 2 x battery Ozito blower is fantastic.. i think better than the 36v Ryobi jet blower..

for the other two items, get Ryobi.. I have the Ozito and the Ryobi, the Hedge Sweeper is Great, i have the corded and now also the 36v HP long bar version. Ive used it once at the moment just to test it, it is rather noisy, more than what i was expecting.

    • Agreed, I have owned both, the 2x18V is really worth it. Probably my favourite Ozito tool, followed by the 2x18V chainsaw.
Able to completely clear leaves from the garage and drive way and back lawn in minutes. Much more tedious with the smaller blower. Always have this one ready to go with batteries in place.

      • +1 to the $30 Ozito 36v brushless blower sale from two years ago, its still going hard

I also have the Ozito 18v Workshop blower for camping. Not the most powerful but its compact and can inflate airbeds and SUPs, clean out the tent and back of the ute.
