UPDATE: Price has increased from A$3.99 to A$7.49 as of Sep 22 8:00am AEST.
Vampire Survivors had been priced at A$3.99 (and a couple of times at A$3.59) ever since it was released on Steam (Dec 17th 2021) - but there will be a price increase on September 21st, as per the developer's recent September 15th 2022 patch notes:
As announced forever ago in the Early Access notes, the price of the game will go up slightly to reflect all the content and regular updates that were added during the game’s Early Access. The price will go up on September 21st, which is a bit before the release of v1.0
Why is it going up before the release of v1.0? To be frank, it's because otherwise I'd mess up the sales calendar for the rest of the year. I want to keep the option open to eventually enter some of the usual seasonal sales, and increasing the price on v1.0 launch day would mess up the timings, as price changes also comes with a temporary price freeze.
The A$3.50 price increase on the Steam listing has not occurred for the Microsoft Store listing of Vampire Survivors (it remains priced at A$6.85) - on the other hand, it is already included with Xbox Game Pass for PC for active subscribers.
For anyone on the fence on whether this game might be to their liking or not, there are plenty of reviews that have been written on the game's Steam listing, lots of YouTube videos, and several review articles on the Wikipedia page:
- the game's demo web version is still online and free to play using a web browser.
Great game, great deal for the current price.
