Cyberpunk. No one can get 4k 120fps anyway
@giggler: Steampunk - the 1080p version
@Transient: Cavepunk - the 640x480 EGA version
especially 32" - maybe 24" or something small if you were a poor gamer
pixels would be like a screen door1080p in a 32" ? wtf, thats a waste of resource
For some people who are doing office work and have say 40-50 year old eyes, the physical size of the screen makes a big difference. Also they may not want 4K resolution. That's definitely the case in my office where 2 of us have 2x 4K 32"screens and 6 people have 2x FHD 32"screens. Those people moved from 3x 24"screens and prefer the size of the 32"ones
Just increase scaling, although it won't work well if you are still using XP era software.
This is why my office uses 1440p 32" monitors, it's a good compromise. I find 1080p at 32" unusable.
Yep, also good for Teams / Zoom meetings and at a distance. The video compression means that it's not that sharp anyhow and death by Powerpoint works just as well, if not better.
I’ve got mine wall mounted and have a 800mm deep desk. Works for me. I don’t see the point in having 4K when I only do word processing and web browsing.
Maybe to use with one of the many ex-office PCs that keep getting posted here.
cause I'm not on the average ozB 200k per yr :) and have to live within a pension and pay rent
Easy on the eyes, can sit further back, better price, no upscaling issues.
Main Character Syndrome.
I had to Google that one Dr. Phil. Thanks for the laugh.
upscaling issues
Honestly can't be understated enough. I've got a 13" (330mm) 4k laptop screen which to be fair would be worse than a 32" (810mm) screen for this but it gets really annoying. I basically have to put my face into the screen to read things sometimes (mainly older apps where icons and such are an issue). It also gets annoying for design programs that are set at a ratio of 1px per px of screen and don't zoom in any further.
32" FHD no good.
In case your calendar is also showing 2022 and not 1963, the 4K version is on sale for $529
That's if your calendar is showing 2021…
I got that monitor for $350 a long time ago on ozbargain, should of bought 2 had I known the price would go up
What if it's showing 1985?
CRT hooked up to a Commodore 64 obv
Each pixel will look very big for a FHD resolution on a 32" monitor.
32" at 1080p, bad combination, I used my 32" FHD TV as a monitor for a while, it was not that great experience for coding etc.
What do you use now for coding?
2 * 22" at 1080p, but I am not a professional coder, just a student
OK cheers
@beebul: Just avoid VA if you're coding. Although some VA panels are good many have black smearing which is not good for scrolling text in dark mode. 4K IPS with 150% scaling is the best for coding in my opinion. Crystal clear text.
@Yuri Lowell: Thanks I will bare that in mind 👍
DELL Lost control today :)
wasted the whole morning
For those click happy, this is not price error… it's just a crap product.
i doubt i paid $240 for 38'' i am sure it is error waiting for refund :P
Looks to be correct 32" for $246.36 which is pretty close to $240 for 38"
I'll say, she'll be right
:D hope for your sake Dell honours your buy!
Thank you
OP: I think you meant "Response Time" as this one has a 75Hz refresh rate of a VA panel.
I got an extra six inches from Alienware earlier this morning for only $3 more.
thats what she said
You paid only $3 more.
Let us know when you get your 38 inches.
Actually, we'll probably be able to hear when you receive it.
I'd go this for $40 more…
I thought this was a great deal until I saw the resolution specs. This monitor should be at least QHD.
Wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a TV?
most 32" tvs sold in the market now are 720p
I declare 16 September is DELL DAY
Eww FHD.
Why is FHD bad? \
Good may be up to 24", anything beyond should have higher resolution.
Depending on what you need to do, FHD may be fine.
The issue with this display is it is quite a (physically) large screen for 1080p.
If you have decent eyesight and use this as a desktop display, it will be noticeably not very sharp. If you only need 1080p for the work you do, look at something around 24".
A relatively basic monitor, missing DP and USB-C.
Might be good to stack 2x beside my TV so I can watch sports on the occasion the mrs prefers to watch something non-sport with me.
32" is too big for Full HD panel, and this cheap Dell also has a VA panel instead of IPS… Only would buy it if I need a small size TV display.
Thanks for posting, bought 2 to replace S2721HN
I got one recently, good monitor for the price. Great value.
Review of the Dell 32 Curved FHD Monitor - S3222HS (average of 4.3 out of 5 stars in Dell Reviews)
A 31.5″ curved full HD monitor with stunning 3000:1 contrast ratio, realistic 99% sRGB coverage, built-in speakers and a height-adjustable stand. 1080P@32" 75hz refresh rate is ok for office use, programming and basic gaming. I bought one and I love mine and I paid $249 on a dell/eBay 20% off sale with free freight, so its a common enough offering if your keen Ozbarginer!
+ built in sound and its pretty good for a monitor too

Everyone must have visions of 11/11..Received an error message saying order cancelled due to price error
They still have this price on their website. You would think they would fix that before cancelling orders.
I would contact them, after all the pricing errors yesterday they are probably cancelling a lot of orders and may have cancelled yours in by mistake.
Mine was cancelled too. I got on to live chat to query it and they said it was a pricing error and they were having "technical problems" with the price. It's still hasn't been fixed though.
They regularly have much higher % off other monitors. I'm starting to wonder if Dell actually sells monitors anymore
I ordered mine at $246.36 on 31/08 and received a few days later. I don't know how long it's been that price but I'm guessing the influx of orders from here has caused them to realise there was an issue with the pricing.
Placed the order today and it's confirmed but Delivery date is set to November 11! WTF lol
For anyone interested I ordered this one https://deals.dell.com/en-au/work/productdetail/fbhs
Order went thru ok but was then got cancelled, then got a call from Dell advising the cancellation was an error and they re-ordered. I ordered two and received them this afternoon.
Looks like it's bring you kids to work week at Dell.
Same thing happened to me, but they were saying delivery would be middle of November. I cancelled.
Why would people buy a FHD monitor in 2022
