I reccomend going to the Arctis 9 over the 9x, unless you are specifically connecting to the xbox, it is a bit more expensive but you get a dongle that will connect to the PC/PS for wireless and you can use the Bluetooth for phone, also on the PC it has an ability to mix 2 audio channels together on the computer which is handy when you chat and game at the same time, the left hand cup has a dial for adjusting the level between the two channels.

    • Do you know if the Arctis 9 will work with the switch too? Aka game sound from switch and bluetooth to phone for discord?

      • It does connect via the dock to the switch, although i haven't tried it. The Party chat only works on PC, for PS and switch is works as as a single audio device.

  • This or the senheisser headset posted here yesterday?

    • Neither. Bluetooth 5.2/5.3 headphones and headsets are just starting to launch. They'll offer better audio quality, better battery life, and better bandwidth for mic audio while also being low latency.

Read the fine print to ensure that you are getting low latency gear, but gaming stuff like this is old news.

  • Is this headset still uses micro-USB?

  • I was about to swear as I was researching a steelseries headset before pulling the trigger on a blackshark v2 pro for $124.

Turns out the reviews still prefer the blackshark. Phew.

  • I have this headset and would highly recommend it. Great sound quality, comfortable to wear and connects well with the Xbox.

Just make sure you update the firmware if you get one, early versions had issues.

At this price it seems like a really good deal.

    • Hi, jsut want to confirm if there are no disconnection issues with Xbox as mentioned in rtings review?
      https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/steelseries/arctis…

Update 05/25/2021: Some users have reported that their headset disconnects on its own and that the audio stutters or sounds clicky. After using the headphones for a couple of days, we noticed this issue, even when using two different dongles. The headphones were also still showing as connected, even though they had disconnected, and we would have to turn them off and on again. SteelSeries has put out a troubleshooting guide to address this issue, noting it could be caused by minor interference. However, we are unable to adjust our router or turn off other devices in order to test for interference. Instead, we followed the steps to reset the headphones and Xbox, and this didn't solve this issue for us. If you have experienced this issue, please let us know in the discussion section below. The scoring of this box hasn't changed.

      • That issue was fixed with a firmware update. I updated the firmware when I got mine (using the PC app) and have never had any connection/disconnection issues.

I always recommend people do the update when they get this headset because I'd heard of this issue and it put me off buying them at first.
