Free 200 gone already? WTF…. Bait advertising.

It is possible people claimed code on different financial years. I did that on the last code I obtained. Codes go fast but I was eventually able to get one from a prior deal

Does this service support tax calcs on mining rewards and subsequent transactions when operating in a buisness like manner (non-hobby)?

    • You are intending to make profit. Crypto is not considered a hobby. Mining rewards is income. Desposing of a coin/ token is a capital gain event. The whole point of the reports is to help you to declare your income and capital gain events correctly.

Sign up for a free account and you can then start looking how it treats your wallet transactions

      • Thanks. Yes, back in 17/18/19 I had declared all mined coins as income at daily AUD rate (ouch!) but my accounted lodged as capital gain it seems, not income tax (ouch!).

Fast forward a few years and ATO are barking at me for disposing of mined coins. I first thought WTF? am I really paying tax twice on this shit? Seems that the answer is yes. Lets hope I was stupid enough to sell the majority as capital losses.

      • @4agte You've misunderstood the question.

        https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/capital-gains-tax/shares-…

You can do Crypto as an Investor or as a Trader - capital gains does not exist if you choose the Trader path.

Martyroz is asking if you can use Koinly as a Trader, not as an Investor.

        • You can treat it like trading stock. I.e. take the balance at the end of the year in AUD + all the cash from disposing crypto - balance at the beginning of the year in AUD - all the associated cost i.e. depreciation from your mining rig, electricity. That is your income for the year. No capital gain, no daily price fluctuation.

Does anyone actually generate income from Crypto? Most people I know who are "crypto traders" just use it as a cover story for being unemployed or drug dealers.

  • I lost too much money, now don't have money to pay for the report haha

    • So you bought high and sold it all lower?

      • At some point everyone purchased high. I bought some Bitcoin at $600 and I thought it was a rip.

Vast majority of coins are one-hit wonders, so one could assume they are losses before actually selling.

  • Just discounts $17.7 from now

Crypto was more fun before all this KYC and reporting. Exchanges were basic and you had your keys.

    Bit of nostalgia:

  • A little bit of googling found this this KNOJI is still working for 30% off, even for existing accounts.
