    Sounds Tasty

    • +26

      if only it tasted tasty

      • +3

Remember, you are obliged to post this on the Hungry Jacks page… (as per their T&Cs)
        :-P

    • Just tried it, it's fail… the patty was hard to bite lol

      • +1

        you're just doing it wrong

      • +4

        Was it like this? http://i.imgur.com/Aox6R.jpg

      • Bought 2 from 2 different stores ($1 ea from email on phone screen).
First was freshly cooked. Plenty of salad & mayo. Tasted great!
Next was overcooked, very rubbery patty, almost no salad & mayo. Terrible!!

  • +12

    Interesting condition on this deal
"User must return to Facebook to comment on their taste experience after purchase"

    • +1

Haha yeah I saw that. Would like to see them try to enforce it!

      • +14

They will send the boys round to extract it from you.

        • +1

They will neg you on Facebook if you dont…

        • +14

after using the offer and not commenting on facebook i can confirm they do actually send the boys to get the comment.

I am writing this from hospital with a broken leg and bruising.

I should have just written the damn comment…

        • +2

Not the boys! By boys you mean the snotty nosed ones that flip the patties out back because they can't be trusted with the cash draw and can't multi task well enough to work the drive through?

    • they'll be too lazy to get us to do that!

    • +2

I suspect that could backfire on them!

  • +105

Looks good. Here's the non-unique email they send you in a Word doc. You can change the name if you want, though it doesn't really matter: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15252451/HJs%20facebook.doc

    • thanks

      • Thnaking you

        • +31

I don't feel as though we know each other well enough for that yet! :p

        • Isn't Thnaking banned in public? Perhaps it is fine between consenting adults in private.

        • somehow I read that as repping you. reply still made sense!

    • Has a name on email, and condition "Facebook Offer valid for 1 voucher per person only "
but can't see how they would stop you using it more than once.

      • +1

unless you're in NYC and the fat police ask for ID before serving you !

    • Thanks John.

    • Thanks for that. :)

    • +1

Thanks mate - added it to the deal

      • +1

        No worries :)

    • +1

      thanks for that!

fyi - don't forget to change the date, otherwise u end up embarrassed and pay the full fee :)

    • +3

A big thank you. Even though there's no hungry jacks around my work. Appreciate someone who would do an extra mile for the rest of the community.

      • Cheers, neonlight :) I've always appreciated other ozbargainers banging together PDFs/words docs that expedited the deal redemption process (especially ones that involve Facebook) so figured I would return the favour!

    • +1

Can we change the expiratory date as well?

    • Thank you as customer that go HJ way to much nice get some cheep there from time to time.

  • +12

    Great

Another assault on the bulging rear end of ozbargain users

  • "Not valid with any other offer" Aww you can't combine this with the $2 Whopper and Fries?

Oh well, looks like its tendergrill for lunch today then!

    • +18

yes, and for your identical twin who also has a printout but is wearing a different jacket

    • +1

Why not? Drive around once and ask for the $2 deal then drive around again. Technically they are separate visits.

  • +4

just about time I get sick of the whooper LOL

  • great now we can choose whooper / tender grill. thanks op

  • Good deal but the jerks auto posted to my Facebook friends without asking and I can't find anywhere to disable the post! If I'd known I had to pimp the place I wouldn't have done it.

    • -7

they know you go there far too much by the size of you, anyway !!

      • +1

Yeah very clever and all, fat jokes are the height of comedy especially when I'm not fat.

      • +3

        real classy man.

    • -3

If anyone can tell me how to remove it I'd be grateful. Not sure why I'm getting negs, I bothered to log in and comment to let people know what happens.

      • +3

I'd say that's more to do with the fact that you negged the deal more than anything else.

        • +1

I see, it's my honest evaluation for the fact they posted without asking as I value my right to choose :). NP, I mean no disrespect by negging the deal and didn't realise it would get that sort of response. Thanks for the clarification.

        • +3

Yeah. People are touchy about coming down on stuff for any negative non-monetary value judgements here.

        • +1

go the the Hungry jack page and 'unlike' them .. should do it shouldn't it?

      • +2

Normally that sort of thing is in settings > apps > then look for HJs

        • I've had a good poke around and tried that, seems like a slightly sneakier link than that, I'll post the answer if I can find it.

        • +1

If they posted on your wall click on the x next to it and a drop down menu will appear allowing you to delete the post and revoke their publishing rights.

        • It's possible it's not coming up coz I'm on mobile (I did try the desktop version too but also on mobile). The link on my actual profile page was removed by going to my profile page as removing it under recent activity (doesn't have that option on mobile site) I'm not sure if doing that removed the link I shared. It doesn't appear on my timeline (profile) page anymore but it is still in the news feed.

        • +2

(on desktop) when you click 'claim offer' there is a drop down box to choose who sees this post, I changed mine to "Only Me". So it appears on my timeline but only my log-in can see it.

        • Thank you very much, I'll see if I can fix it once I get home (and 1000 friends of friends of friends etc have claimed it and blamed me it tastes bad lol

    • do you know how to read about privacy settings?

  • +3

    no more printing hoorayy!

  • thanks OP

  • +3

Thanks for the document. Saves hassle of login into facebook

  • +9

Good deal, thanks for the word doc.
This from HJ, then walk across to Maccas for $1 fries and $1 coke. $4 lunch here I come!

    • +35

I guess the extra dollar is for me. Thanks! :)

    • +30

That would be $3. Good maths.

    • +2

Or use the $2 Whopper and chips as well for a HJ feast :)

    • +3

      OMG. True ozbargain spirit

    • +6

Wow, my calculator must be busted. Lucky for the country I left as a High School Math teacher in 2001, saved a nation from mathematical failure.

  • Tendergrill, Tendergrill, Tendergrill.

  • HG is gonna make me fat.

    • +5

Roy is gonna make me fat.

  • I love it!!! Thank you!!!

  • +1

I guess 1 dollar they still making profit.
I wonder what is it made of…..

    • +1

      chicken breast

  • +1

Editable voucher means you can change the expiry date and the menu item too. I wonder if the staff will care 8~)

    • +1

I doubt most would care, but I suspect the "button" they press to enter it on the register at the counter will disappear after the expiry date :(

    • +1

is it wrong that after reading so much about food this line entered my head as "edible voucher"?

      • +1

Non-stop pizza codes, continuous Hungry Jack $2 offers since last year, and now KFC with its Tuesday 9-piece deal.

Is it wrong that after eating so much food, your comment read like this?

Thank goodness Macca deals are banned on OzB.

    • +1

change the expiry date and the menu item too

And also the establishment. Simply substitute the Hungry Jack's logo with the one from the fast food chain of your choice.

  • +1

The doc says you can show on your phone, but asks you to print out as well.

Is a soft copy voucher usable?

    Thanks OP for the post!

    • Saw someone show the voucher on their phone at HJ's Adelaide (Pultney St), and they had no problems.

  • H/J, you've done it again. I better get using these coupons though - 3weeks ain't a lot of time.

  • Free delivery?

  • +6

They now have this penny saver thing where a small milkshake or espresso is $1. Why walk to Mcdonalds and loose calories when you can have it all there.

  • +4

In a few years time will be watching the news. "australia takes the place of the US as the fatest country in the world"

    • +8

Ohhh I get it, in a few years when English becomes our second language and news reporters use terrible grammar

      • +1

i blame the iphone auto correct. stupid siri!

    • +2

Actually, that already happened back in 2008.

(No idea if we're still the fattest though)

    • +1

haha nope. The headlines would read: Australians fat; Australia sinking.

  • +1

Well, that was average. Definitely not worth $5.95, barely worth the dollar. I had the wrap btw.

    • Damn. Did it suck in quantity or quality or both?

Was going to have the wrap but now may have the burger…

      • +1

Both. It was bloody tiny! Same size as the spicy wrap they have except twice the meat.

        • +1

They use the same wraps for both, and they have recently reduced the size of the wraps. :(

        • +2

So there's twice the meat but it's the same size?

        • +2

Well tried the burger but… I think I know what the wrap was like.

It was worth $1 imo but completely not worth the $6 they are asking for normally.

Also it amused me that the burger had a lower kj count than the wrap (1.2Mj vs 1.5Mj). I expected it to be the other way around.

        • Yes.

    • The burger is just as bad :/ my chicken was real dry and had no sauce on burger and lettuce was everywhere

      • +1

HJ's new rule: "If you are no 100% satisfied, we will replace it"

        • +1

          minus bland patty
          plus victorian spit sauce ?

          hehhehe

ahh the tender grill can't claim anymore.

  • If they have pennysaver shake @$1 each, I could be tempted go inside for a sample wrap. Myself I typically get 2 x whoppers out from the drive through. So potentially a $6 feed.

  • Have to redeem it in-store!
