I've actually gone to the store before & looked at the pack, it doesn't specifically mention it hence why I'm asking here.

          • +1

@Xxmilker69xX: Useless! Did you read the Kmart Description?
Only shows "16 colour options controlled by remote", not what colours. Same as on pack.

            • +3

@INFIDEL: Look at the remote, it has a W.

Having owned the 5m version of this before (and returning it), I can say it does have white but it's not a dedicated white LED, so it's all 3 LEDs (RGB) turned on at the same time.

              • +5

@CVonC: Having used those generic remotes for various strips, what is shown is mot always available or what might be expected!
                Yes, the White isn't white.

                • @INFIDEL: Did you read the part where I said I had the 5m version of this?

                  • @CVonC: Yes and that the "White" isn't white on these 3 colour LED strips. White is available on 4 colour Led strips with white LEDs.

                    • @INFIDEL: Keep arguing on the matter when we're both not disagreeing. The fact of the matter is there is a "W" on the remote which you were saying might not be the case.

                      • +1

@CVonC: You confirmed it works (but maybe not actually white). Hence my upvote of your helpful comment.

Due to the different strength of light output by the different coloured LEDS, it can give a different colour than white. Especially noticeable on nearby white surfaces.

No disagreement - saw photo including "W" key before your comment. But as I said, it might not produce the effect expected ie White light. And sometimes some keys aren't implemented with a particular strip.

Can't judge operation by photo of a generic controller. Your experience was far better!

@INFIDEL: People are so lazy these days, info is served on a plate and they still don't read it.

              • @Xxmilker69xX: Where does it say White as a colour option??

The "White" isn't white on 3 colour LED strips. Rather it has all 3 LED colours on at same time.

@INFIDEL: Mate I'm not trying to argue with you, just pointing out that the guy who asked the question about colours should have read the description

                  • @Xxmilker69xX: I know, but the remote does indeed produce a "white" effect by pressing the W button in response to your

just pointing out that the guy who asked the question about colours should have read the description

Why - it doesn't answer that question.

WatchNerd is very experienced on OzBargain & understands how to click links. But Kmart packaging & description doesn't have that info.

So a valid question. Answered by CVonC, who has the 5m version.

@INFIDEL: Ok, you guys keep arguing over a $6 bloody light. I'm out - have a great day ok?

                      • +1

@Xxmilker69xX: Did you finally realise it doesn't specifically mention White in the link description or on the pack?

@WatchNerd: Hey, black lives matter too

@WatchNerd: I've owned a few of these and there isn't a dedicated white LED. Comes out a more blueish white.

Like most cheap RGB lights they have "white" but theyre quite on the cooler scale of white and aren't very good

      • Any suggestion just want brighter day light for the TV?

      • +1

Agree, I got this at $10 - they're so cool I would call it blue.

        • I bought similar one from eBay their white is like blue.

      • Agree. Bought this one and the white has a green tinge. Admittedly this is a sample of n=1 but other comments suggest it’s a trend.

        • how wide is the strip please? thank you

  • -1

Comes with USB plug only for reference

    • Wrong. It's mains powered only. Just bought one.

Out of stock online. None at stores near me

    • still available in limited stores :) like bondi westfield in Sydney and Toowong in Brisbane

      • Thanks (also in Brissie), but the cost & travel time wipes out the saving. Hoped to use free OnePass for free delivery.

  • 1 left at Sylvania NSW, ordered. Now wait and see if it is really in stock or not.

    • Update: No stock available at Sylvania. Order cancelled. Oh well, just an LED strip that I don’t really need anyway.

  • +2

NOTE this is decorative lighting only, not for illumination.

2A USB, will be very dim, only 2W per metre max at the LEDs.
Looks like 5050 12V strip though. Maybe you could replace the controller and get some decent light?

  • Thanks polarq! I ordered 2 of these and also got free delivery (would have been $14 otherwise) by signing up for the 30 day trial of something called OnePass (I'll just cancel before the month is up, they send a reminder as well).

I've never owned an LED light strip but I always wanted to try one out behind the TV maybe, this seemed like a very cheap and easy way to check it out. Thanks again for posting 👍 🏆😃

EDIT: Noticed you posted a link to the 5 metre ones too, went back and grabbed a couple of those as well, I think they will work well in the computer room. I hope that they might be able to be connected together so can use just one USB port and remote? But even still, seems like a great price for these 5 metre ones too and the reviews people gave are mostly favourable. Thanks again and for posting multiple options too, Cheers OP :)

  • Thanks op. Picked up the last one in Taylor's lakes today.

  • Order canceled automatically. Wondering this is just a bait to visit their website. This is my second attempt for same product

  • Price has dropped:

    • 3m $4
    • 5m $8
    • Thanks, updated.
Looks like they really want this gone from their shelves!

  • Will this strip work on street number on mail box?

  • +1

For anyone looking for stock, Bass Hill, NSW still has heaps.

Still scans at $6/$10, but they overwrote at the checkout if you show them the online listing.
