Not sure why the Amazon photos are rubbish, but that is a nice looking dial.

    Price matching starbuy

As per the first line of the description

Didnt see that.. Move along haha

FYI - This is only 39.4mm diameter so it's good for skinny wrists.

Looks like current stock is sold now as there is a delay in shipping so some may prefer to buy from Stabuy $219.

All else being equal, I'd go Starbuy anyway.

They're an Aussie seller, and they've been great to deal with (just their general service, plus I had an odd issue with a Citizen that they sent back off to Citizen to have resolved without any sweat).

Agree. Honour the source. Bezos can go get…

      • had very good experience from starbuy as well, picked up a watch from their office in Sydney many years ago the guy was really nice.

      • I wait for amazon because free returns if I don't like it within 30 days.

Perfect for my spaghetti angel hair wrists.

    • Hey watchnerd.

You will now the answer to a question I ask myself every time I open a starbuy link or watch manufacturers website…

Are the images used of actual watches or renders, or a combination of both? They look so sharp and detailed they often don't look real.

The Amazon link above reminded me of how shitty some product images can be.

      Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but I agree the pics are hopeless which is why I usually try to link to a youtube review.

Omg, WatchNerd approves of my watch post. We made it boys!

It shows 20% off with promo code for me

    • !! That's not showing for me :(

    • For new accounts only I think and it's for their first order. Code is 1STORDER if anyone wants to try, doubt it'll work on existing accounts with previous orders

    • +1

      Same

20% off with promo code 1STORDER

    • -43.80, not new account. But didn't buy any similar products before

    39mm case, too small

    • I posted some bigger watches earlier today.

    • What are you, the Hulk?

    • +3

Not really at all, for this style of watch. The lug to lug is the important dimension to check. A lot of divers are similar it's just the bezel that adds bulk/diameter to the case. Good to try on anyway, a lot of people wear watches that are poor fitting and too big. It could look a bit big if anything.

I got a Seiko snkl23 which is 38mm and is fine, great dial and hands but is hard to read on some angles due to the colours and lack of AR coating. It's all about getting something legible. Was considering upgrading the old movement to an nh36a but may be over capitalising (although modding is half of the fun and probably worthwhile).

    • goldilocks says, just right

      • Yeah looks plenty big enough. Most of the pilots are huge.

People say they wouldn't mind if the numerals were lumed on this Seiko, but for $220 its pretty good.

FWIW, this has never sold for $495 - so unsure why it's titled as "was $495". $495 is RRP, which is as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle.

The camels say highest ever price was $395.90, and over the last 6 months or so it has been priced on a steady decline from ~$300-$240, and now to the current price.

  • wish they made the seiko 5 as WR200, i’d be collecting em like pokémon.

  • How good are the luminous on these analogue watches? In the past, they don't stay luminous the whole night. Or they were not bright enough unless in total darkness.
I'm too used to a smartwatch now where it's backlight is so easy to read

    • It varies depending on the model. Usually dive watches have better lume but it still varies.

      This Steeldive has incredible lume.

    • Depends on the watch and lume, eg. Chromalight, Superluminova, etc. Old timey tritium lume fades quick.
