I love Aliex and have done over 1000 orders. Shipping speeds are much better again, however last time none of the coupons worked and I was purchasing much more than minmum amounts. As always, check your stuff works when it arrives at the refund window is pretty small, but is ebay now too.

    • There was no "last time" for these codes 😝 Usually for these kind the Tech Sale items will have a banner.

Last time being last general discount coupons https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/719430 Nothing seemed to 'qualify' as a 'selected' item or whatever the wording was. Anyway I had about US$80 of stuff and even a $30 code ($3 off) was denied.

    • The small refund window is set up like that on purpose. Recent I requested a return and refund for an item that's eligible for "free return for any reason". I raised request in the refund window but AliExpress didn't reply until one week later after refund window then they denied because it's outside refund window…. Now I understand the so called free return is just a trap

  • "We don't recognize this promo code. Have another try."

Edit: I see it says "kicking off from 5pm on the 9th"
Why was the Ozbargain alert set to today at 5pm?

    • Were they tech banner products?

  • 8TECH120 doesn't work for me.

The order amount(excluding shipping fee) is under the minimum spend of this promo code. Please apply another code.

Cart is over US$120 before shipping and GST.

    • Same, only lets me apply to 8TECH4. Annoying when you have a large order to place. Even upping my cart to $300 USD it still didn't accept the code.

I'm going to say this is simply not working.

      • Were they tech sale banner items? If not then it's not going to apply.

        • Yes they were. The Tech Event banner is showing.

          • @gadgetguy: Do you mind sharing the products? I try to make my deals as accurate as possible so it'll be good to see if I get the same issue.

            • @Clear: I CBA doing that for all of them, here's an example:

              https://imgur.com/a/gCuyFzS

              • @gadgetguy: 8TECH4 works on that one if you have the printer with 3 or 5 rolls of labels. "color: D101 Printer" won't work as it's US$33.41 and "color: D101 Add 1 White" because it's US$35.28.

                • @Clear: I already said it accepted 8TECH4. The rest of my order is multiple items of paper for this printer, totalling over $300 AUD, from here:

                  https://imgur.com/TmPxTtj

It's all from the same store, all have the banner. The code does not work.

                  • @gadgetguy: Weird I was able to get the code to US$12 and US$24 codes to apply. Besides having used the code already which I doubt, maybe this part on the listing could be conflicting?

Additional 10% off (2 Pieces or more)

                    • @Clear: You would expect if an additional discount invalidated one code it would do it to all of them.

I did a trial order on a different item and store (an expensive USB hub) just to see if I could ever get it to work and it did not.

Anyway I wasted enough time on this now and have already ordered with the lesser code.

  • I had a lot of trouble as well. I admit I was a bit late, sale started 5pm I jumped on the computer at 6:30pm.

I made sure my items added up to $120 USD before delivery and tax by changing the currency first. Then cleared my cart changed back to AUD and went to checkout.
I put in 8TECH120 and the "under minimum spend" message comes up. 8TECH4 does work though for only $4 so it's not a seller problem.
Tried different combinations of sellers with the same item, still gives the same result.

Ok after being fed up, I thought I will just try purchase one item and use the 8TECH4 code. Nope it gives a "we don't recognise this promo code" message. How convenient.
And the chat feature is nowhere be found. I managed to click on "customer service" at the bottom of the home page, it took a long time of trying because of the infinitely scrolling products that keep loading. But no it's just a FAQ section with common answers to questions.
Spent enough time on this for one day (almost an hour). I am just fed up with this now.

I noticed something recently as well. A lot of products have gone up in price and are staying there. Seems like the sellers are getting a lot of business and don't feel the need to be competitive. Often I will see certain products cheaper locally or Fulfilled by Amazon AU.

    • Did every product in your cart have the Tech Event banner? If they didn't then they're not part of the sale.

      • Ok looks like I am an idiot. When I read "banner" I usually assume it is a full width banner and there is one at the top of every product page that says "Tech Event PLUS" but I now realized that is at the top of literally every product page. Also all my products were Tech related so I just assumed this was the banner I had to look for.

Now if you click the top full width "banner" it goes to the Tech event PLUS page, and if you open each one of those product pages it shows a small "PLUS" icon with "featured brands" next to it above the listing title.
I think those are the only products that qualify.

Some of these products also have the price in a red box that says "Superdeals" or a blue box that says "Tech Event Ends in…" so I don't think either of those are what makes them qualify.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate you posting these codes. I have used a couple of them in the past successfully and you probably are the one who posted them.
It's just this time I was having issues.

        • so the one with Tech Event ends is not valid for this code?

          seems pretty misleading then

          • @pinkybrain: You mean the blue price box? Some of those are valid for the codes. After clicking the top banner some items on the Sale page have a blue price box and some have the red price box.

The only "way" I can see to find out whether the codes apply to your items is trial and error in the cart. Or click the top banner which takes you to the "Sale page" and choose your products from the ones shown on that page those should qualify. If you are like me and have had items on your wish list you were waiting to buy with the codes, then you have to use the trial and error in cart method.

If the price is eligible and code doesn't apply to that single item. You know it doesn't qualify. What I know is whether codes apply to items or not is totally up to the seller to control for each item. e.g. on their end they can simply tick a box which says "no discount" or something and no matter what you will not be able to get a code working on that item.
Each seller can do this to all their items, or choose individual items to qualify for certain codes. That's what I heard awhile ago anyway.

But I understand the frustration when it's a "Tech sale" and you add a bunch of tech items to your cart expecting them to all qualify and it turns out some don't. That was just me being naive and hyping myself up for the sale since seeing these codes.

  • Kicking off at 5pm AEST on the 9th of September

    Don't you mean ends on 9/9 5pm?

Kicking off means starts at 5pm AEST on the 9th of September

Also how did you find these codes on the site or somewhere else?

    • Don't you mean ends on 9/9 5pm?

      Yes.

  • Just quickly running through them, current status is:

    valid $4/$40 8TECH4
    expired $5/$50 TECHS5
    expired $10/$100 TECHS10
    valid $12/$120 8TECH120
    expired $20/$200 TECHS20
    valid $24/$240 8TECH24

    • TECHS codes are still valid but I think they're more picky. They'll actually say if they're expired when you try to apply them.

    • Yeah tried those new codes earlier because I wanted to work my way up the list to meet the "minimum spend". No go unforunately.

  • I tried with one product and none of the code work.
It also had the blue banner (tech event) on the product page.

These codes are misleading (does not work) in regards to the blue "Tech Event" banner that also appears on those product page.

Also the product listed as between (e.g $50 to $60)
yet no matter what option we pick, it never shows the lower end price.

    • Which product?

      • Try this one

        https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004266544870.html?spm=a2…

also none of these codes work either
        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/723098

        9SEPT6
        9SEPT9
        9SEPT14
        9SEPT24

        • 8TECH4 works

          • @Clear: but that code is misleading/incorrect
since the item actually cost US $58.79
            which should qualify for

            $5 off , $50 minimum spend = TECHS5

Also they gave me $4 off code already (For single orders over US $5.00) which was already applied
so that code 8TECH4 was useless/redundant for me ..

The point is the TECHS5 should have work since it was over minimum spend of $50 but it doesn't
so this whole codes thing is misleading/dodgy by the site

            • @pinkybrain: TECHS5 doesn't apply to all products with the banner. I will go add them to the selected deal instead.

              • @Clear: why the price range listed as US $50.39 - $58.79
yet no matter which options you pick(PAL / NTSC, EU plug / US plug), it never gets you the lowest price $50.39
and always shows the highest price $58.79.

Hence why I said this site pricing is quite dodgy.

Also the codes requires you to try your luck with products and testing which code works or not
or why the code should have work (with minimum spend) yet doesn't work (ie TECHS5)

Their code system is quite a mess compared to ebay which shows the lowest price with the code that works on the product page itself.

Where did you find all these codes ?
Would like to read the terms myself.

The site does not officially list these codes anyway easy to read the terms and conditions
unlike ebay codes which does etc..

                • @pinkybrain: Their pricing is no different to how eBay sellers do it. Lower out of stock item with a cheaper price.

There's no terms and conditions for AliExpress coupon codes.

                  • @Clear: yeah but on ebay at least if we pick the cheapest item in their listing, it actually will show that lowest price..

Can you actually pick any options or cheapest product in this page to get the lower end price range that is listed (US $50.39 - $58.79) = $50.39?

                    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004266544870.html?spm=a2…

The lowest price range on that product is faked/misleading, since there is no product or option you can pick to get it.

If you can find out what option or product on that gets you the price $50.39
then please show me or take screenshot etc..

Else right now their lowest price range is misleading to me, and just trying to fool people into thinking that it can sold at $50.39 (based on the options or product you pick on that listing, which is non existent)

                    • @pinkybrain: You know I can't change this.

                      • @Clear: Yeah I know you can't change this..

Just wanted to confirm that I am not the only one can't get that lowest price range.

So I am correct in this regards, that there is no way you can pick any options or lowest product on that page to get the $50.39?
If you can't get that lower price either then at least I know I am not the only one that is experiencing this fake price advertising.

Have no idea why they aliexpress or the seller can even put the lowest price range in their product listing
yet have no way of getting that price.

                        Very misleading indeed.

Also do you get emails that shows the price as being really low
yet when you click on it, there is no way you can get that price?

                        e.g.
email sent 1 day ago shows price for that product as $76.58 AUD,
                        https://i.imgur.com/ZYDRlEc.png

yet when I click on item in the email, and do google exchange rate of $58.79 = $87.52.

The email price is just fake to trick you into thinking you can get it for that price yet you never will.

                        • @pinkybrain: Honestly their system is just straight up weird.
For example one time I was buying something I needed and didn't intend to use any codes or anything just cashback.

Anyway at the checkout stage automatically it discounted by a significant amount that was a better ratio than these regular codes.
I couldn't explain it, either I had some kind of "luck of the draw" code in the My codes section or that seller was offering it over a certain spend but I did not see it anywhere.

Sometimes I think the "low price" shown is the lowest possible price you will get if you checkout. e.g. you have some discount applied to your account you don't know about. That's what I think anyway I can't prove it but often you will get a small unexpected discount applied and more rarely they will apply a significant one like around $20 off.
