Great price for such a large air fryer =)
Seems to have been received well on here in the past when it was $90.

In stock online for me and a friend, both in VIC.
must be using my location to say there is no stock around me….no stock in at least 5 stores nearby…and just checked all over NSW….seems NSW has no stock that I can see
bummer :(
bathurst
@battler: lol, lucky for Bathurst then…can't see (from the searches I did) anything around metro Sydney…I can't check every postcode lol
The stock locator is pretty terrible. But for Sydney Metro I've found:
@johnn: yeah, nowhere near me. If it was able to be delivered with a reasonable cost, then that is ok, but I wouldn't drive all the way to any of those places just to get this.
@souths123: Where are you located? In your earlier comment you said you "can't see anything around metro Sydney" and I've just found 10 all across Sydney
@johnn: Penrith…I just put in some random postcodes around Sydney and couldn't see anything, just to check, not with thoughts of going there, but definitely nothing anywhere near me, as I said. I have their smaller model, and am happy with that, if there is no stock near me for this larger one
@souths123: Fair enough, can't see any stock out west. Auburn is probably the closest but that's still a 40 min drive away.
@johnn: yes, and none even anywhere near where my kids live and work (CBD and Balmain) as I could have gotten them to get it for me if I wanted one…oh well, no problem. I will just keep using the one I have. It is still fine. First World problems lol
@souths123: Leichhardt Marketplace is close to Balmain? About 10 mins away
Thanks OP, got one to replace a smaller one of these which has worked a treat thus far.
Thanks. Plenty in bendigo
not small either
Philips XXL is not even 10 L
Got one of these for $35 at my local Woolies a while back. Works very well for the price and has a great capacity.
In terms of cons, it's very noisy and expels quite a bit of heat out the back which makes whatever is behind it very hot - so much so you need to make sure the power cord isn't near the exhaust vent or risk melting the shielding.
The basket also needs to pushed in very firmly, which can bump anything inside - a bit of an issue for things like grilling shredded cheese etc.
'The basket also needs to pushed in very firmly, which can bump anything inside - a bit of an issue for things like grilling shredded cheese etc.'
Sounds exactly like the smaller one.
yes, sometimes it is easy to push in, others it doesn't quite line up somehow and you have to move it around a bit to get it to go in. I try not to be too heavy handed pushing it in, in case it breaks something.
I'm not worried about breaking it, but it annoys me sometimes food topples over, such as shredded cheese.
My smaller Mistal, functionality rating- 8/10. Build quality 3/10. haha

That's what she said?
@cucumber: ha ha…not
It is pretty large. I have one from Post. Works a treat.
If you take the basket out, it looks like a giant Lego bike helmet
Just note this has one basket that is not fully enclosed with vents on the side.
This is a potentially a problem if you move it around and oil comes out the side!
I assumed all air fryers had side vents in the basket?
Don't they work like a small fan forced oven and the air needs to blow from all directions?
Some have a double basket. One with no vents and an inner version with vents. I think those can be a bit safer.
You can still use this style, just something to be aware of.
This one is hugee! Make sure you have storage space for it lol. Been using mine no issues.
Have one and mainly use it for reheating things a microwave isn't great for, think pizza or fried chicken. A couple of minutes or so in and it comes out fresher than fresh.
This one is big enough to fit whole Dr. Oetker Ristorante Pizza, or similar size pizzas.
comes out fresher than fresh….. big enough to fit whole Dr. Oetker Ristorante
We're talking about frozen 'pizza' here yeah?
got one from Lake Haven NSW cheers
I own one and am not a fan of these huge 10L one. They take up a huge amount of counter space and does not brown as well as a 4 or 5L one. Even at 200C, my wings do not brown well without overcooking. The basket also has issues closing and I often have to push it in hard.
I would downsize to a 6L one when this one dies.
Does it cook well if you put less food in or is it that it doesn’t cook well regardless of how much food is in it? If it works well as the 6L when it has less food in it then I might consider it (I can just treat the extra capacity as a bit of a bonus - as countertop space isn’t a major concern for me).
No, putting less food does not make a difference as the fryer still has a much larger volume to heat up compared to a smaller air fryer.
You could possibly try putting a trivet in and raising the height of the food so it is a bit closer to the heating element.
There are times when I am grateful for being chuck in a whole lamb leg or large slab of pork belly but as I have said in previous reply, the air fryer struggles to brown food as well as the smaller air fryer. I m thinking of wings and salmon fillets etc which overcook easily.
Thanks for the detailed response. I think I will stick with the smaller fryer I already have.
Had one for a couple of years now, gets used multiple times a day. Its large capacity makes it so versatile for what you can cook inside.
Do you leave the 4 rubber ends on the grill plate? Thanks
Sorry for the late reply. Yes I have kept them on this one but the last one we had they had come off and didn't really cause any problems except maybe the tray was a little loose in the basket. A spare pack of 4 rubbers are included and I've been replacing them when needed. I used my last spare just yesterday actually!
OOS @ burwood, burwood plaza, strathfield
One left at Chadstone - near the frozen food isle.
just looked it up on youtube, godam thats big lol
Got the black version for the same price
The costco one for $80 is much better in value and quality. Said that this one does the job perfectly fine. Threw mine out recently after the metal basket had ran its course.
How long did it last?
about a year and a half or less. It didnt stop working or anything. Just the basket had given up. The basket did not feel hygienic and rusted even after handwashing and dishwasher cleaning regularly.
What you could do is lodge a warranty claim before its warranty ends and you will possibly score a refund or replacement from woolworths. This is however unethical and i hv not tried doing it.
I have similar issue (starting to have signs of rust) with the basket on a different cheapo brand one, so line the basket with baking paper/foil to overcome it.
@Craze: you loose the air circulation and it results in poor cooking time .
@Craze: My five year old from Harris Scarf still going strong. Except the baskets had oil baked on, and it looks a bit icky, but the unit itself heats and works fine.
No amount of soap and scrubbing gets it off. I could go steel scourers but that will destroy the non stick coating.
Any tips on how to remove old oil and spruce it up again?
Have got the black version. Great size and great price. Nicely done, OP!
None at Booragoon in WA.
None at Roselands NSW :(
None on the moon. And no rubber chickens there either…
Did a dash to south Yarra in Vic as it says there's stock. Couldn't see any on the floor and empty on the shelf where the price sticker is. Someones stashed them out the back I bet.
Never manage to find this available
This is a great deal for a 10lt fryer. I recently bought the 4lt after I gave my big Phillips fryer to my daughter. Having had a premium dollar fryer, the mistral fryers don't have any of the fancy air circulation stuff that the top end has. Bottom line, takes longer to cook and you need to shake the food half way through to ensure everything comes out evenly cooked. Not that big a deal, still quicker than an oven. Used to take 12 minutes for chips for 2 in my Phillips, takes about 17 for chips for 1 in my 4lt mistral. Meanwhile, the mistral is much easier to clean than the Phillips. The bigger mistral will do a better job (in theory) of cooking smaller serves but if you're looking to cook a while bag of chips for the fam then you'll need to shake and maybe add more time to get the result you're looking for.
Thanks for the usage details, mate.
Bought one today, one of 2 left in the store.
Our households first foray into air frying.
Is it physically big? Yes, make sure you have space.
Gave it a run tonight, half a bag of Woollies potato gems and 4 x sandwich chicken schnitzels. Half a bag of gems didn't even cover the whole base tray. Set for 20min on 200 but after a couple of minutes I knew 20min would be too long!
A couple of minutes later gave it a shake then added the schnittys, about 10min later was done. Could've probably run at higher heat.
Worked fine, look forward to using it more!
Dang it, couldn't find any available in stores.
Great deal, thanks OP. Silly question do the 4 rubber ends stay on the grill plate? Or should I remove prior to use.
I've left them on. No issues yet
Thanks
They definitely stay on. Otherwise, the tray will fall out very easily when dispensing foods.
good luck finding it though…out of stock online and in any store near me
