Last day 20% deal from Dell ebay

I added a 3 year premium support for my father-in-law so that I can forward all his computer "how to" queries to DELL phew

fun fact: To upgrade any support/warranty packages, I mistakenly went to the official Dell customer support for help. I needed to click the "Contact Seller" button in the listing to get a custom listing for my bespoke combination.

Ah okay, that sounds cromulent for my needs.

        Thanks!

    • Absolutely for non touch , luv the ports , super light , ,cheaper alternative for XPS .

  • We have been rolling these out at work with the i5 and they are slick machines. I like them.

    • how are their battery performances? How many hours on full charge, for activities such as internet surfing and watching movies/youtube?

    • oof, why didn't you go Latitude?

  • From a technical/performance standpoint, is the CPU on this machine better than https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/722025?

    • 1260p is 20% faster than 1255U. For 20% more power, though.
      https://www.notebookcheck.net/Our-first-Core-i7-1255U-benchm…

    • All the 'U' CPUs have only 2 high performance (p) cores. The regular 'P' cpus have 4. So there is a significant difference in performance.

Personally I wouldn't buy a 12th gen intel U series at all, the efficiency cores included in both the 'U' and the 'P' series already allow low power use when not plugged in.

Also note a 6 core AMD 6600U will outperform both these i7 CPUs, even though its considered equivalent to an i5 in marketing.

  • Video Card
    Intel® Iris® Xe Graphics

no wonder i dont see people commenting about the gpu

  • What happened to the 7000 range of inspirons.
Dell changed their website so you can't even really search for them now, and they don't seem to be on ebay.

  • Can this comfortably drive 2 4k monitors? In addition to the laptop screen? Or do I need dedicated graphics for that? Thanks

It may heat up and launch to space

I connected my Think Vision P27-10 monitor via the USB-C port.
Every time the laptop boots, it gives me an error about the power supply. Apparently, Thinkvision P27-10 only supplies 45W via the USB-C interface, while this laptop requires 65W to operate properly

      Also my setup is
1- ThinkVision P27-10 Monitor (QHD with USB-C hub)
      2- Dell S3422DWG (UW-QHD) via HDMI

I only used it for a couple of hours but it was working fine. I did notice the fan from the laptop started making some noise.

  • How much is 3 year premium support?

    • it was something like $150ish

  • The maximum resolution supported over HDMI is 1920x1080 @60Hz. No 4K2K output.

    Ewwww

    • That’s what you have USB-C for - providing your monitor supports it.

I connected my UW-QHD Monitor via the HDMI port… and it works at 60 Hz

  • Does anyone know if this has soldered SSD and RAM?

    • Ram would be soldered, usually SSD can be replaced.

  • Ordered this last week on Thursday… got delivered yesterday!

  • Anything good with touch scrn?

  • Hey guys, this Dell deal is better than this Lenovo right?

I actually bought the exact Lenovo but was $1300 from Lenovo Ebay a couple of weeks ago .
Battery life is at least 2 days of schoolwork for my son .
Screen is very nice and build quality seems at least as good as an Inspiron , much better than the one we had 6 or 7 years ago .
The build actually feels better than my sons old YOGA720 but it's a bit chunkier . Seems like a good weight/size balance for school .
The 6800HS should outpace the i7-1260P at most things while using less power .

      • Wow great feedback. And while I am no expert, admittedly not what I expected given the praise for Dell around here.
So maybe Lenovo hasn't fallen off just yet.
Thanks I will keep your comments regarding that particular Lenovo laptop in mind.
