Found this to be a great deal:
Not the top spec, but very worth the 1400 AUD!

Avoid 250 nit screen product…you will get a very mediocre display.

Agreed - bad screen. Personally sacrificed the extra 500gb (and saved $90, and better CPU) and instead bought this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/718781 instead.
The 300nit screen is worth it.

      • 250 to 300 seems small difference? what's a good nit?

        • It is a huge difference. 300 is at acceptable level
But still not too bright. 250 is a no go.
          XPS version offerd 500
Also tell you what, Iphone 6 had 500 nits screen.

      13 inch model

    • I've had my eye on that for a few weeks. Seems to get cheaper every time I look.
I'd love to hear your opinion on it

I ordered through eBay as it was >250$ cheaper than the website (paid 1228$). The delivery time on eBay was 1 month… but I ordered last Thursday and it got delivered yesterday (messaged Seller on eBay to expedite)

Lenovo has been my brand of choice for all my personal laptops till now. But with this price and specs, Dell was a clear winner. The laptop feels good and works very well (only used it for a day). My usage mostly includes having the laptop hooked to a USB-C hub with an external monitor.

Note the i7 1255u only has 2 performance cores ,so is at a significant disadvantage to other CPUs with a higher performance core count . It still needs around 55w TDP to perform, which is hard in a thermally constrained laptop.

  • If you don't mind the 512GB SSD, the i7-1260P with the 300 nit display is cheaper.
