The Stanley 45L Wet & Dry Vac is one of the current in-warehouse savings. At $99.98 ($60 off) I think it's a great deal. For $10 more you can get it delivered via Costco Online.

Yeah, I reckon I could do better with a straw than the Ozito one my parents have.
Read this as Stanley 45L Dry wine cask
Come back when you sober
FYI in US you can get a DeWalt wet & dry vaccum from costco for 99. Here we gets Stanley FatMax…..
I thought DeWalt was inferior to Fatmax?
one of us could be wrong….
Stanley Black and Decker own DeWalt.
does anyone know if their morrabin warehouse has any stock?
I went there tonight and saw 6 (5 after I got 1) but they might still have more but definitely, only 5 on the ground left tonight.
Ingenious! Sucks it dry or wet
Does this clean carpets well
Carpet floors? I wouldn't think so. The head isn't really designed to get really close to the ground and get the suction required to really get stuff out of carpet. This is more for cleaning up in the garage and other dirty/wet places where you don't really want to use your expensive vacuum.
I used to own a backpackers and I used an Einhell barrel vac for all my vacuuming. I went to Godfreys and got a motorised brush head and was good to go. Wheels around nicely, super long flexible hose and long intervals between emptying are the positives. Negative is that the cord on barrel vacs is often a bit short.
depends on who you ask.
When you pay $70/h for office cleaning or household cleaning and see the cleaners use the same kind of wet & dry vacuum, you will have to tell yourself it does clean your carpet.I guess it depends on your carpets. The carpets where I've worked have always been those barely there carpet tiles like the cheap mats you can get for your car. I imagine if you have plush carpets this vacuum wouldn't do very well at all.
Best to use a vacuum cleaner with a motorised head or a turbo head to lift the dirt from carpets.
I just rent a proper carpet cleaning machine whenever I need to give the carpet a deep clean, which is like once or twice a year.
$50 ish a day at your nearest hardware rental place. Those machines cost 1-2k to buy
Has anyone use this kind to vac water off timber decking? I have been using a mop and its a pain.
Have you tried one of those broom squeegees, they sell them at bunnings but they are very expensive (For what they are). I instead bought a broom with a squeegee on the back that works great for getting water off our tiled patio.
I am using the broom squeegees I bought from Kmart. Does a great job. Cheers.
Think of it as good exercise for your body.
In south east Asia, you see people “mowing” grass with a sickle type blade cutter. It would be a truly first world thing to do to vacuum water off your deck. 🙂
Thx for putting me off another impulsed OzB purchase :). Fully agree on the good exercise part. I must resist.
This thing got me through my reno.
Be warned, they're pretty big - and their QA is so so.
Have you had to change the bag yet? I haven't used mine enough to fill the bag yet but would like to get some in advance. One downside to this vacuum is you can't just go back into Costco to get more bags.
Maybe a blessing in disguise, you'll get to enter the world of affordable third-party vacuum bags.
I know about 3rd party bags. I've tried looking and haven't really found an "exact match". Was hoping someone else had found one or found something that they can adapt to use with these.
Was messy like a divorce
Saying got the toolbox and some tools and must admit they are pretty good value
thanks mate, I think I will grab this one over the ozito stuff which not only sucks but also blows……
