      know they're technically not bargains

Then it shouldn't be a bargain post… Put it in the forums…

      • I don’t check forums.

        • +4

          tough titti…..

          • +1

@jv: Given that this is on the front page and what you want to happen isn't happening, it seems you're the one with the desiccated mammary to masticate

            Enjoy

            • @GrueHunter:

Given that this is on the front page

Because of all the -ve votes

              • +1

@jv: All I see is a much, much larger number of positive votes

                Ha ha

                • @GrueHunter: They are just the usual recalcitrants.
                  You can disregard them.

        • Agree , why were he rules changed to include streaming services. Are we going to post every new movie or tv show on every streaming platform? It's ozbargain not ozadvertising

          • @Regie69: I mean, you've all been whining about it totally going to happen for so long now it must be coming soon, yeah?

Yep, any day now. Every show, every sub, every day.

            Maybe next week.

            Or in 2023.

            2025.

            Definitely 2030, tops. You'll see!

  • +7

    Sorry, not a bargain.

    • -2

Do you have somewhere else I can watch this for cheaper? Thanks in advanced

      • +1

Do you have somewhere else I can watch this for cheaper?

Depends how much you are currently paying for Netflix.

        • Assuming that I pay 5c more than the best deal available - what is that best deal or bargain instead?

          • @DiscountForThee:

Assuming that I pay 5c more

            You should never ass-u-me

            • @jv: Just requesting what the best bargain is available right now :(

              • +2

                @DiscountForThee: It's not a bargain.

Like watching 'The Block' is not a bargain…

                • @jv: I'm not saying that this IS a bargain, I am asking for a bargain and a cheaper way to watch this movie

                  • +1

                    @DiscountForThee:

I'm not saying that this IS a bargain

Then why did you upvote it?

                    • @jv: Are you replying to my comment about where to watch this movie? Or to the green + symbol?

                  • @DiscountForThee:

a cheaper way to watch this movie

go watch it at a friend's house.

                    • @jv: Better make that comment for literally every bargain ever then ;)

  • Dune was from last year.

  • -2

I had such high hopes for this movie but it was just a mess IMO.

  • Possibly the biggest blockbuster movie of the year

    huh!

    • It's still playing…

    • It did good, but others have done better and there are several weeks of daylight between top gun maverick and the rest.

  • Dune movie was already released on Amazon Prime in other geographies if you have VPN. The movie is slow and not for everyone's taste though.

    • yep it sure is screw netflix Prime always for the win.

  • More of a deal than another PS5 @ RRP post

    • Not really… About the same…

  • +15

Agree with people who think this isn't a bargain. If this were then we would get an update for all streaming services when a new movie or TV show is available on their service.
Voting could be skewed on this since you need to post to down vote.

Just my 2 cents. Be nice if you disagree 👍

  • Bargain or not, thanks for sharing

    • +6

      Maybe post on OzSharing then…

      • I didnt post but ozsharing sounds like something you do jv

        • +3

          Sharing is caring…

          But it's not a bargain.

      • +1

Good idea jv, go make one so we can share too.

they put Aqua-man on a desert planet?

no wonder he didn't last long.

    • they put Aqua-man on a desert planet?

In the book, it was a dessert planet…

    • No, no. He took a stargate from Atlantis.

How Zendaya should have had more screen time.

    • Sure to will have quite a bit in part 2.

  • +4

Can we stop with these BS movie coming to X streaming service. Should be in the forum.

    • It's actually a lot quicker to scroll down than to comment and click downvote.

      • +2

There will have to be a lot more scrolling if people that post non-deals aren't discouraged from doing so. They're doing the site and its users a service.

        • I'm a user and I love it

          More asbestos! More asbestos!

  • +6

SUBS posts are automatic +1, strictly for the haters.

    Suck it haters!

  • +3

    Ozstreamingnews?

  • Upvoted and commenting just to spite the people negging it because they do not care about streaming releases, especially when it's an unexpected one. This is a Warner Bros film releasing on Netflix, we didn't know if that would happen. We thought WB would just hold onto it till they release HBO Max here but thankfully they didn't.

Now I can invite my friends over and watch this movie on Netflix in the best quality instead of ad filled and compressed 123movies so this is a great deal

    • +1

we didn't know if that would happen

That doesn't make it a deal. It's news, certainly, to those that care, and thus belongs in the forums not the deals section.

    • Netflix UHD is not the best quality and you don’t have friends

  • +6

Professional troll, can't we ban this user?

  • -4

I'm reporting these posts as they are not bargains.
I suggest everyone do the same.

    • +3

By all means. But while you're there, tell them to remove every movie posts on OB, items at RRP and other others that require subs & membership.

      • +1

Items at RRP can still be a bargain if its hard to get and the cheapest price.

        • +1

can still be a bargain if its hard to get

In your opinion sure, but many will say otherwise and choose to neg those posts

So why is your opinion valid on RRP posts, but not on SUBS posts?

Should this site form it's rules around your opinion and no one elses?

          • +1

@spackbace: Thats not really opinion though, thats just the reality, some ozbargainers live in the past saying it was cheaper x months before.

Nobody is going to say Dune on Netflix is a bargain (everyone voting here is just glad to be told about it)

Plenty of people will say an in-stock PS5 at RRP is a bargain if everyone else is charging $100 above RRP.

Essentially if people say its specifically a bargain, then it is, and the comments here clearly show that its not a bargain but simply some good news.

            • +1

@samfisher5986: Again, subjective, and both deal types have their lovers and haters

The beautiful thing is that if it bugs you, you simply either scroll past (which takes little effort), or go a step further and block them

I don't own an Apple device, so I don't see a value in deal posts for them, yet I don't feel the need to interact with them. I don't get why that's such a complicated thing? Oh no, you don't like the post! So why take all the effort to click in, comment, and vote, when you could simply scroll past and leave it for those who do care about it?

              It's really not complicated

              • +1

@spackbace: The latest iPhone for $200 off RRP is a deal whether or not you want to buy it, likewise for Android or Windows phone, or laptops or Macbook or Chromebooks. News about what is the latest thing to be added on a streaming service isn't, it's just interesting news. If you remove the word "Dune" and insert random title of movie you're not interested in, do you think it is still a deal? If every new movie to hit a streaming service was posted as a deal would you agree with them being deals? It isn't even about digital versus physical goods as a digital game that usually costs money is free or heavily discounted that's definitely a deal. But you can't agree, surely, that every new game added to Game Pass deserves its own deal.

                • +1

@Quantumcat: Yet in some of these posts, at least 500 people disagree with you

So you can state it like a fact all you want, but it's not, it's your opinion

                  • +2

@spackbace: They're upvoting it because they're happy to see the news. It doesn't make it not news. And there's nothing showing that more people think it is a deal - people that don't think it is a deal simply don't upvote. If you counted the traffic the deal has seen, and took away the upvotes from that, that would be the number that don't think it's a good deal. The neg voters are just the same only they're caring enough to bother commenting on it. Even very bad deals rarely see this many negs

                    • @Quantumcat: Good to see you've spoken with all the voters to find out why they voted, that must've been tiring work

                  • @spackbace: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/510579 - This should be enough proof that plenty of people disagree.

What you'll find though is that while plenty of people disagree, people often won't neg a post, especially if others aren't doing it. Thats what can you give you the false idea that the majority think the posts should be on ozbargain and even more crazy is that people think its an actual bargain, rather then just good news.

As you can see in this post some people started to neg and others have jumped on to agree.

                    • @samfisher5986:

This should be enough proof that plenty of people disagree.

Plenty of people don't visit the forums, or the competition section for that matter

and others have jumped on to agree.

I believe those are collectively called "sheep" :)

                  • @spackbace: The_Dude has entered the chat

                • +1

@Quantumcat: Exactly, and even if you were to put a dollar value on something like Netflix, one movie isn't going to change the value.

At the very least Netflix announcing the addition of the entire HBO catalogue would at least substantially change the value of the product and you could consider it a deal of sorts.

                  • +1

                    @samfisher5986: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/popular?days=7&noexpired=…

                    Lol @ the top 2 results…

                    Clearly you're in the minority

                    • +1

@spackbace: Showing people who support something has nothing to do with how many people don't support something.

I'm not sure how you've managed to make that mistake.

                      • @samfisher5986: Yet you've been making the same assumptions based on the negs on this post, which clearly don't surpass 700

If you want to derive any data from the votes on this post, then all SUBS and similar posts should be in contention, since you don't want any of them posted

Yet clearly a majority support them, but of course it's the minority who will be the loudest voice in the room

I'm not sure how you've managed to make that mistake.

Probably in the same way that you fail to understand how to block these posts. Maybe simple things are difficult for you

                        • +1

@spackbace: I'm not trying to block the posts, I don't have an issue scrolling past them.

The point is that plenty of people want these informative posts, and plenty of people don't think they are a bargain, which likely includes many people who just like the information. I'm not trying to imply anything else.

                          • @samfisher5986:

I don't have an issue scrolling past them.

Yet you did in this instance, and went to the extra effort of neg voting

                            • +1

@spackbace: No I'm just voicing my opinion because others are as well.

                              • @samfisher5986: I don't see you voicing your opinion on other SUBS posts. What made you all worked up on this one?

    • How's that working out for you?

  • +1

Will probably buy this on 4K Blu Ray

  • Should I detete from storage then 🤔 better not have black bars like all movies ☹️

    • better not have black bars like all movies

Would you prefer movies cropped or stretched, instead?

      • Absolutely

        • You'd prefer to literally have some of the movie cut away, so you can't see it and you are missing information, framing, and details? Or you like watching skewed and warped images? Do you place a pillow over your speakers when you listen to music, too?!

          • -1

@DiscountForThee: I pay for a TV, I expect the entire TV to have no space.

Would you share your bedroom with me, no really

            • @LoserScott: You pay for a movie, why are you stopping yourself from watching all of it?? Do you edit songs before you listen to them, just so that there is zero quiet spots and there is always something playing???

              • @DiscountForThee: Hmmm I can't talk about that as it's off topic, but you already know the answer 🙊

    • if you want to hide the black bars you can hang a blanket over the top of your TV and stack some boxes in front

  • +1

Apparently it's the preferred option for people to complain than to just hide the subscription-based bargains lmao

  • +5

    No deal

  • +4

    Great.

Can you post this SUBS discussion in the Forums section as well? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/forum

Would be great to see it there for when I am looking for the latest subs or update to the tv guide.

Is there a reason you haven't just done the whole Block "Additions to Streaming Services"? Is that less fun than making a comment or is it too much work?

      • +2

This sort of deal dilutes actual deals. Do you really think that every new addition to a streaming service deserves a deal post?

        • +2

If you, or anyone who agrees, wants them to not dilute the actual deals, then why haven't you blocked these types of posts? I'm confused why you'd want to not see them, but are not taking the easy steps to… not see them?

  • +2

when battling the negative comments …. "I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer."

    • I didn't understand at first, but lolz

  • Amazing soundtrack, sends shivers up your spine. Awesome movie too. But now ozbargain has become a front page of new release films and tv shows…

  • +1

Reading all these comments makes me want to bring out the popcorn!

  • +11

Legit, I can just post the entire Netflix catalogue one film at a time for free internet points?

    • +3

If you post new, upcoming, blockbuster films which are as-yet unreleased on other streaming platforms… yes? And it gets plenty of votes and is very easy to hide for those who don't wish to see it?

      • +2

new, upcoming, blockbuster films which are as-yet unreleased on other streaming platforms

Why limit it to that though?

        • Isn't that the majority of ones which get votes?

          • +2

@DiscountForThee: I'm not sure tbh. Doesn't seem like it'd hurt to post the rest at least.
