  • Was already very tempted on the SN850 2TB from BPC - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/717783 - this sweetens the deal a bit more.

Assuming BPC is included in the "Western Digital approved Australian reseller/ retailer" designation, not sure how to find that out.

    • I think these stores are usually promoting it on the products page, e.g Mwave.

  • +1

Buy Red get free SMR :|

    • +3

I guess it's still okay if you want to move away from magnetic tape

      PS,
      Red pro is CMR
      Red plus is CMR
      Red is SMR

    • +2

Plus/Pro seem to be CMR but I get what you saying.

  • $115 for WDS100T3B0C - WD Blue SN570 NVME 1TB not bad\

The WD Blue SN570 is faster than famous drives, like the Samsung 970 EVO, Kingston A2000 and KC2500, ADATA SX8200 Pro, Crucial P5 Plus, and Team Group MP34. Only the Samsung 980 (non-Pro) is able to match it, and the Hynix Gold P31 can beat it by 1%. The difference to the best PCIe 4.0 drives isn't that big, either. The Samsung 980 Pro is 4% faster on average, and the WD Black SN850 is 5% faster, yet 100% more expensive.

  • :( No Red Plus/Pro 14TB unfortunately

If you're buying a WD HDD from one of those sellers, you've already been ripped off.

    • Can't talk about every single one of these sellers but mwave currently pricing the WD101EFBX at $329 which appears to be the same price as Amazon.com.au and according to CCC is at its all time low. YMMV.

      • It's about $20 more than the all time low from US amazon, but then you get $37.5 per drive back. Effectively less than the all time low.
