I know that the main deal for this eBay sale has already been posted but I thought I'd highlight some particular Canon lens deals that seem to offer decent savings. Obviously not quite as good a deal as last month's digiDirect's 20% off eBay sale as they have since increased baseline prices, but you still can find some good deals on select photo/video gear.

      Done, thanks for the reminder!

  • 50mm f/1.2L $2,959

Is it any different to this one for $1,889?

    • +3

Yeah that is the EF version so only mounts to DSLRs. This deal was focused on RF glass for Canon's mirrorless cameras. e-Infinity also state a 12 month warranty on their products so likely a grey-market importer as Australian stock comes with a 5 year warranty.

      • thanks

Bought the RF 800/11 for $1399 last night. Can't wait for it to turn up.

Nice, great to hear! That lens seems like a unique value proposition for those looking to get into super telephoto work at an affordable price.

      • I have an EF 500/4 so I'm not expecting it to be anything stellar.. But what I am looking forward to is being able to shoot something long in a light weight body when the sun is shining.. I also have the 100-500 RF but it seems it turns to a big mess when you introduce the 2x extender.

        • Sounds like the ideal application. Yeah the 2x extender is pretty rough even for the best glass out there, 1.4x looks like the sweet spot. How have you found the 100-500, love it? Did you use the EF 100-400 II at all?

          • @olcrackerjack: I have the 2x extender permanently attached to my 500/4 II.. You just need a really expensive prime to make the most of extenders. I'm still warming to the 100-500.. It hasn't blown me away like I thought it would. The engineering fail of not being able to use a 1.4x extender on it without the loss of 100-300mm is.. extremely frustrating. Especially when said extenders are $1000+.. I had the EF 100-400 II and thought that lens was utterly superb, especially since a 1.4x offers negliable degradation. I bought my new copy for $2100, so am still scratching my head as to how the 100-500 is $4000+.. Still, I guess RF glass is just expensive, for whatever reason. The real bargain is last gen EF lens + adapter.

  • Would recommend the Sigma 85mm f1.4 RF mount. I love mine! It’s super sharp and not as heavy as this 1.2. Got it for less than 1k on previous Amazon sales.

That lens is great like most art series Sigma lenses (I used to own the 50mm version), however it's not a native RF mount lens so one will have to use an adaptor for mirrorless cameras. Sigma are still yet to develop and release native RF mount lenses — hopefully they do soon!

I meant to say Samyang / Rokinon my bad.

I've had it for 2 years now :D

        • +1

Ah yes, they are pretty decent lenses for the money!

        • Too bad Canon ordered Samyang (and everyone else) to stop producing RF mount lenses😢

  • These lenses are super-expensive. I guess the people buying them are pros.

    • Professional glass at large fixed apertures has never been cheap - whether that's Canon L glass, Sony GM/Zeiss, or the Nikon/Fuji equivalents Probably, I suspect that a decent proportion also just enjoy photography/videography and think that the technology is worth the cost. It's no different than people spending a lot for high-end golf clubs, car parts, collectibles, wine etc., most of them aren't professionals but its just their "thing".

I know, I just remember when the Canon 85mm f1.2 L used to go for under $2k, now the RF version is around $4k.

        • Yeah I hear you, the old times always look golden in some regard

        • Similar with Nikon lenses. there's like a >$1k difference now with the 'pro' grade lenses.

20% off R7/R10 cameras or the kits is really good deal. R7 + RF-S 18-150mm for $2,071.20! I don't know if this is eligible for Canon's preorder offer though. And that offer requires you to receive the camera by Aug 31 to see its SN.

    • I bought one late-morning yesterday and I'm playing with it now.

    • Yeah it is a good deal! Great crop sensor mirrorless camera

  • No Samyang 85mm RF :-(

  • +1

    Thanks OP
Been waiting on this to upgrade to the R7!

  • The Canon 35mm f1.8 is down to $600.. good discount

    • True, at $607 delivered its $91 cheaper than CameraWarehouse! Added it to the list

    • RF lenses are still not back to where it used to be:

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/519564

      • I don't know if we will ever see them back down to those levels, maybe in 3-5 years time when mirrorless is more ubiquitous and second-generation RF glass is being released?

        • Yeah we've had a few RF lenses price hikes in 2021 and 2022
