  • cant seem to find the 'apply coupon' box..

    • In checkout, after supplying your details.

    • Hi,moeozz.
After clicking on ‘Secure Checkout’, on the step of ‘Shipping & Payment Options’,
you can see an orange words‘Have a coupon?’, in the same line with ‘Order Total’.
      Then just enter the coupon.

      • nvm

    • use a flashlight…was that meant to be sarcastic?

  • +1

    $5.17 AUD (just sayin').

    Good deal for a Cree!

    1 discount per customer :(

Probably just as well, it's an impulse buy anyway!

    • Cree is good but the maker(some Chinese company) of the torch would use shitty contacts there for making it turn on/off when in use.

  • +1

Yeh OP quoted prices in USD.

  • +1

These handy little torches pack a punch recently purchased 3 from another supplier but this is the cheapest price yet, friends cant beleive how bright they are

  • Got one! Great deal!

  • I hope these are actually 210 lumens, if so they'll pack a punch ! :)

    • +7

No. It won't be 210 lumens. Using AA, it would be feeding ~1W to the Cree Q3 (I assume XR-E) which is rated at 93 lumens @ 1W. So it will be more like 80-100 lumens out the front at best with AA batteries.

If you use a 14500 Lithium battery with this light charged to 4.2V (which it supports according to the specs), then it should do around 200 lumens for a very short burst before dropping to around 150 lumens for a while longer.

Also, from the pictures and specs:
      1. It seems it can tail stand upright by itself to light up a room off the ceiling.
      2. It has lots of heat dissipating fins so it should handle heat better than some.
      3. Removable clip.
      4. Convex lens (most likely plastic). (Some prefer the output beam from it, some don't)
      5. No idea if it's reverse clicky or forward. (So I assume it's a reverse-type switch)

Anyways, for ~$5 shipped, I guess you can't go too wrong. =p

      • I've got this same flash light with the 14500 and its the brightest torch i've got..

  • Got one - hope the switch lasts but otherwise looks pretty solid! For little Cree at this price couldn't say no….

  • nvm

  • +3

I'll pass. Those $1.50 Dan Brown novels provide me with all the light I need.

  • Thanks for the coupon, bought one as well. Anyone know how long the battery will last for?

  • Great deal… I paid 6x the price for a name brand with half the lumens recently… Thanks OP :)

  • +1

I have one of these, (they are a Cree led). They are a sensational little pocket rocket. Outstanding AA torch at and outstanding price.

I just got another one. Thanks OP

This one looks the same $5.98 AU delivered -
7W 300LM Mini CREE LED Flashlight
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/7W-300LM-Mini-CREE-LED-Flashlight…
This is the cheapest i can find,it's $0.81 more as op price is USD.

  • I got one of these last time - really really good - very disappointed to miss out this time around as would like a couple more.

  • 100 lumens isn't so great, it's like a 10 watt light bulb.

With the lithium battery, it should be much better.

    Still a good deal.

    • +1

depends what you're trying to do

if its a general day to day work light well then its fine and bordering on too much (I find the glare too strong)

if you're in Fallujah with Force Recon its probably not enough

      • +1

I stated the facts truthfully and I get negged, oh well.

Good luck with your purchases everyone.

I even +ve the deal before the negs.

Do we really want the truth or not?

        This must be ozfarcegains.

        • Yeah I don't know why you got negged. I +ve'd you just now.

        • 100 lumens is ok for what it is… i don't think anyone disagrees with that… if you want more you'd be after the 18680 type batteries etc.

i reckon its too much for what i do (which is mainly looking in dark places during the day)

  • missed out :(

    • +1

      They are all over eBay.

      • True.

  • Missed out as well :/

  • +2

I bought one of these with the Creed Q4 LED on eBay for $4, so hmm.

    They are very good however.

    • +1

      A Cree Q4 flashlight for $4 (including shipping) ?
      Any link ?

    • +1

Can you please link to Cree Q4 torch on eBay for $4?

      Thanks

  • What is the purpose in posting this listing a day after it expired?

  • +1

    Looks like a lightsaber

  • I got one of these.

They're very bright. I made the mistake of looking directly at the LED. It hurt like looking into the sun.

  • got mine & my dads today. One is perfect, and the other you have to screw the battery door thingo in lightly, it is a loose fit.. if you screw it in to hard it will not turn off.. not sure why.

Anyway can't complain, its brighter than my dads Victorian Police cree light, but its a bit bigger.

    • The spring that contacts the battery is probably bridging to the case, creating a short circuit, bypassing the switch (probably). See if the spring is bent at all, you might be able to bend it a little straighter.

Make sure you have the battery polarity right too - pointy end at the bright end!

  • Mine lasted 1/2 hours on a standard AA battery before it came ineffective
