Is this just the enclosure and not the engraver itself?
yeah, just an enclosure
If you've got a laser engraver, you'll probably want an enclosure. I built one out of cardboard, but I figured I should upgrade to an actual enclosure like this :P
It’s just the enclosure.
Damn it I thought the same thing.
I wanted to engrave stuff onto metal.
Laser isn’t the best idea, unless you’re spending in the thousands. Maybe you’d consider a CNC machine instead?
I was just planning some cosmetic amateur stuff, nothing professional.
By the way I have no idea what kind of prices I am looking at for Laser. I just saw this deal and thought I would laser engrave a few things for $49, turns out it's not the actual engraving machine.
@harshbdmmaster718: The issue isnt amateur or not, its that metal is reflective. If you use a cheap $300~ laser machine, itll destroy itself.
@ATangk: Ok good to know. If the machine costs $300 I will spending that money elsewhere, it was more a spur of the moment idea.
my engraver is at patio open area, I guess I don't need this
Where does the smoke/dust go? It just stays inside?
I don't see a vent hole or anything.
Get a cheap large fan specifically for this purpose, don't use it for normal fan duties.
Point it facing outwards right on a window.
Same deal when soldering.
Ants aren't that bad, bit harsh
