The internet has decided that a 6700xt should $500 or lower, this is the way.

    • +2

Pricing is getting better due to the end of crypto mining, but with the increase of inflation in Australia and the world pressure will be placed on manufactures to increase costs. People will also have less money to spend on entertainment which will complicate things.

it will goes 50% of current price mark my word

        • +2

$300 for a 6700xt would be amazing but I'm starting to have doubts it will get there and if it does there will be a mad rush to buy them all. People are willing to pay $600 and more, imagine if they were half price!

          • @Noobist45: If a RX7600XT is priced at $599 and performs around a RX6800XT / 6900XT
with a RX7600 (non xt) at $499 and at RX6800 levels

$300 for a 6700xt would be about the right price.

            • @vid_ghost: They just won't sell the 6700xt anymore at that point. You'd have to be quick the grab the final stock deals

        • +1

Yeah eventually if you wait long enough ;)

          • @Qwertyworm: Only need to wait until someone cheaper and faster comes out..

The RX7600XT and RX7600 are around coming out next year

  • Is this model better than the Asus model?

    • I am also interested in this answer

      • +1

        The ASUS is way better

Asus give you a metal back plate.. MSI are giving you plastic with ZERO rear ventilation

        • Awesome, good to hear. Bought the Asus model earlier hoping I've made the right choice

    • +1

I think there's a thread on reddit about these particular models, and the consensus is that the Asus is better built - given that the MSI Mech has a plastic backplate and is generally quite loud and has hotspots.

    • Doubt it. ASUS > MSI all day. I prefer EVGA to both though.

    • This is msi’s cheap model, same as the ventus it’s just a brick of plastic and fan noise

      The ASUS is better

  • Im on a 6600xt that performs really well but I am keeping an eye out for the possible price reductions on the 3080 cards as Nvidia is apparently helping manufacturers clear out that backlog of stock in preparation for the next gen. If I see a 3080 around $900, im pulling the trigger.

    • Why 3080? Why $900?

      • +2

According to insider knowledge, the 3090's and the 3090 ti's dont have a huge backlog of stock. The pain point for manufacturers appears to be 3080's. Now considering a 6900xt is currently going for about $999, I think a 3080 for $900 or below is a good price.

  • My body's saying yes, but my wallet's saying no…

We're just a few weeks away from the 7000 series coming out, the pricing is just silly here.

    • +2

They’ll likely release 78/900xt first, I doubt the 77/600xr will be released in just a few weeks

      • prices will drop for everything.. the top end cards will have a knock on effect even without low end cards next gen coming out until next year

      • Agreed. I reckon even with the high end cards coming out we'll have to wait until closer to a 7700 release to see any more drastic drops.
