    You forgot:

Yes Rupert Murdoch is scumbag who doesn't deserve a cent of my money

    • +4

Addressed above was already revising the post as you posted this as I knew someone would mention something along the lines of this.

    • +18

      Scumbag is putting it politely.

    • +9

He gets your tax money, because he can't afford to pay his own.

      • +11

He also gets free money from Google and facebook, care of the liberal party

    • +1

      Why

    • +1

Why? I am a conservative and think he's doing marvellous job to support our cause

    • What did he do?

  • +2

"Only available for new and returning customers"

    • Apologies edited.

    • +1

What customer is not new or returning?

      • +2

Ones that are paying a sub right now

      • +1

        existing

  • +4

Foxtel and the like are "stop gap" solutions. It'll be like CDs, VHS… as better methods of content distribution wasn't available at inception.

    • Maybe they should come up with some kind of a 'dish' you can point at a satellite.

  • +26

“Foxtel Now standard monthly pricing applies at the end of the 3 month offer period (currently $104 per month for all packs) unless you change your pack or cancel before the end of the offer period."

    Lol $104 per month

    • +8

      What a joke.

      • +3

        you are allowed to cancel.

        • Can I, or just them?

    • +4

      Lol $104 per month

You can currently get everything for $49 per month for 12 months.

      • Rupert, is that you?

        • +1

I'm just posting some different options for people

          • +8

@jv: One other option is to not pay them any money at all.

        • +1

Lol Rupert wouldn't have time to comment as much jv does

      • How?

        • +1

          It's on their website.

          https://www.foxtel.com.au/now/index.html

*Only available for new and reactivating Foxtel Now customers (not available to Telstra carrier billed customers). Not available in conjunction with any other offer. New customers start with a 10-day trial. Ultimate bundle extended until 30 Sept 2022.

          • @jv: Oh ok - just the streaming service. All g

            • +1

              @jakeh87:

              just the streaming service

Yes, this whole thread is for Foxtel Now.

Anyway, Foxtel is now all streaming anyway… Not much difference except for the box you use. No more free to air channels.

              • -1

@jv: That's not true. The FTA's are still on satellite with iq4. Also, you can stream stuff through iq4 that's not on F/Now. I pay less than 104 for the full Foxtel Platinum package, plus they pay for my Netflix sub too out of that lesser amount.

    • Sort of replicates how the modest cost of some addictive drugs for entertainment can rapidly turn into sucking the life out of you (or your wallet) Of course, you have the option of pressing the cancel button in that situation. ahem

    • +1

Even a house bound quaddie would struggle getting value from that

  • +3

    Cashrewards
    $25.00 cashback at Foxtel Now
New Foxtel NOW customers, on first payment only.

    • +2

I clicked on the offer link via cashrewards.com.au and it takes you to a 10 day free trial page for new customers or a $49 offer for 12 months for all channels.

The 3 month offer is outside of cashrewards and won't be eligible.

Cashrewards page also says $25 for all channels but the offer page after click through doesn't say anything of the sort.

Best to check with cr if you can get a 25 for all channels offer as advertised and 25 cashback.

  • +1

$25 cashback on Cashrewards - so first month free?

    • See above. Advertised as $25 for all channels on cashrewards page but an offer of $25 doesn't seem to be presented when going to the clicked through link.

You get a 10 day trial, or 49 per month for 12 month when you click the offer or select all channels.

It may be that all channels are unlocked for 1st month even if you select only the 25 pack but didn't go that far into the offer.

This offer is separate to cr offer.

  • Thanks OP. The app on the LG oled cx etc that works with now?

    • +1

The Foxtel App is available on LG Smart TVs from 2017 or higher, running on webOS 3.5 or above. Believe it should work with foxtel now account, but don't have a webos or foxtel now account to confirm.

    • +1

Yes there's an app for LG WebOS

  • +19

I love paying to watch ads

    • +2

Likewise nothing better than pre roll ads for optus sport highlights and mid rolls for mini matches and a price increase to boot /sarcasm.

  • +12

    lol
    foxtel
    hard nooooo

  • -1

No ios app still? Can't even cast from my laptop via telstra tv

  • +3

    But Murdoch bad

  • +3

just because everyone moans about it im going to be different - I love Murdoch media and its strong bias

    • +2

Same reason I love ABC (strong bias)

      • +3

got to love the left and right wing lunatics unable to tell the facts without personal bias

    • +1

I prefer to trust no one.

      • Is that you Mr Mulder? The truth is out there…

      • +1

        Awe you love @trustnoone?

  • Sorry, you are not eligible to redeem that promo code.

Well screw me I guess lol - edit - Oh returning, I thought I read current. Guess a good reason to stop my subscription.

  • +8

Can Foxtel really be considered a “bargain”? I mean $25 a month for garbage vs whatever the normal price is still overpriced. After the trial it’s $104 a month, seriously what drugs are they smoking. Sorry I just don’t think anyone on the site is going to think this is a deal, I’m assuming the 12 votes are Murdoch 6 kids and their partners

    • +5

Can Foxtel really be considered a “bargain”? I mean $25 a month for garbage

The sports channels by themselves cost $25 per month on Kayo.

    • If you are Heavily into sport it might be. Otherwise no.

  • +1

Lots of people that don't watch sport in this thread

    • +1

if you want sport get Stan or Kayo, not freaking Foxtel

or Bein and Optus for English/Spanish/Italian football leagues

  • +4

    Dear Foxtel,

(profanity) off with this bullshit! You lowering the price for a few months doesn't make up for the price being ten times what it should be for the remaining 2 years!

  • Does anyone know if the fox sports channels are 1080p50 same as kayo?

    • I believe they're at least that. They were advertising that the footy will be broadcast in UHD - probably not on 'NOW' though.

  • +3

    F Foxtel.

  • +1

Decided to give it a go for 3 months, and while I think it's pretty good so far, I really can't see myself paying >$100 a month for it later.

    • So you can cancel any time? Might be a deal for some potentially I guess, I am trying really hard to think of who, as OP said, maybe someone who is on kayo and binge? But even then… All that stuffing around with foxtel for 3 months

Can't actualy see anywhere that says you can cancel my time

      • +1

Well, I didn't see anything about signing up for a 12M contract. I'll let you know in 90 days.

*I just found this, so cancellation is not an issue:

Foxtel Now standard monthly pricing applies at the end of the 3 month offer period (currently $104 per month for all packs) unless you change your pack or cancel before the end of the offer period.

  • +2

And help tear down the fabric of society? Would not support the Murdochs even if I’m paid

    • welcome to the world of centralised corporate media

fox to smh to even the government owned abc it's all the same regurgitated trash

to find proper journalism you have to go off the beaten path these days

  • +1

no one pays for this shit other than Hotels and other hospitality venues

  • -8

Everyone should have Foxtel at a minimum. FTA channels are largely rubbish.

    • Thanks Grandpa!

      • -2

        User name Def check out

      • If you're still using a FTA aerial then you're the grandpa

  • no thank you

  • No one pays $100 to the one company for poor quality ad riddled subscription tv anymore.

  • Trump 2024

    • hopefully, what is going on in USA these days is really bad for the world

and people thought trump was hitler, he turned out to be the peace candidate!

as bad as murdoch is look at the mind job done on people who are consumed with hate, the world burns and all these people care about is how bad trump is… i guess that's how brainwashing works

  • +1

I had it connected recently, I had it for 1 week and realised it was crap, the ads were unbearable. No value. So I asked to cancel, and they insisted that I pay a $400 or $500 early termination fee. I winged until they dropped the fee. I sent the hardware back yesterday

    • -2

Not sure why people are complaining about the ads. 1) There are no ads on the movie channels, 2) There are no ads for on-demand shows and 3) You can always record the show (timeshift) and skip the ads that way

      • +2

People are complaining because there should not be any ads on a paid service.

        • +1

Says who, though? The service is subsidised by the ads - without them, it'd cost a lot more.

          • -1

            @Mr Bob Dobalina:

The service is subsidised by the ads - without them, it'd cost a lot more

No it wouldn't cost a lot more, because people just wouldn't pay more. It's not 30 years ago where foxtel was the only game in town.

What would happen is the obscene profits of Foxtel would be reduced a bit. They'd just be making a more fair amount of money for the mediocre product they provide.

That's assuming they don't get a single extra subscriber, now that they don't have ads (which is of course a bit farfetched).

            • @ItsMeAgro: Read up on the history of cable TV (going back to the 50s) and you'll see that it originally started as a small cost to receive FTA TV by cable rather than antenna. It had nothing to do with not having ads. The cost was simply for the company to provide this re-transmission service - you'd hardly expect it to be free. Over time more channels were added, and as a result the costs increased, etc.

  • +2

I love Fox's fair and balanced news.

    • +1

Then you should take up this offer.

    • Hahaha, you just gave me a good laugh with that comment, honestly, not quite LMFAO, but almost.

    • fox is as extreme as any of the other centralised corporate "news" networks

the only difference is the idiot watching them ;)

some idiots love propaganda from the left while other idiots love propaganda from the right

      either way you're an idiot

    • Just like the ABC.

  • Does this give access to kayo?

    • No. But it gives you Fox Sports.

    • Just use a $2 sim and throw away email and get two weeks Kayo free. I have done this through the whole AFL season and it’s cost me $24 for 3 screens, Boom!!

  • if they offered the app on fire tv I might consider trying it but otherwise, it's just really inconvenient to use Foxtel now.

    • They don't support a lot of devices, unlike the others.

    • You can sideload on firetv using Downloader app

  • +1

Can't I subscribe to this from Argentina for a better price?

  • +1

I pay $155 a month for All Channels, 2 x IQ5 boxes and 100/40 internet. it's locked in at 12 months but means i can get some NRL games in 4K, which is worth it to me. You can get this offer just buy calling the new customers line and the internet is provided by Telstra with no speed issues in my areas (Castle hill)

    • Serious question, do you feel you are getting a good deal?

      • all channels including sports for $55/mth isn't a bad deal

        • $155
