  • Will this get me some viewers?

    • in your Dream, mr Station !

      • If your Dream…

    • Well you put you clips in tiktok, if they are good and i see in my fyp I'll follow you, views I am not sure.

Google Touch-Portal, thank me later ;)

    • is the response time decent?

It’s pretty good over wifi, if you want to be extra sure you can plug it in directly via usb.

    • That would have been cool before I bought one… Honestly though this looks pretty cool! Although my I don't think I would rely on my ancient phone to run a stream.

    • You are a legend.

    • Whilst this is great, the buttons on the deck are more tactile. Not a huge issue for most, though.

  • Bought an XL model earlier in the year and love it. Thought I would pay the extra for XL in case I needed it.. but I haven't yet TBH, you can create folders and pages so it's not like you are limited to just 15 options anyway.

  • anyone know if v2 is worth it at ~$50 more?

These are the differences, for those interested:

    • You lose the ability to adjust the angle with Mk2. That's a dealbreaker for me.

      • But you also don't have removable cable on the Mk1. That's a dealbreaker for me.

        • USB extension cable would solve that problem. Easier than no height adjustment.

I have 2. They are great. Have one for my gaming stuff and the other for streaming/computer related stuff. So that way I don't have to keep switching between folders all the time.
I agree it's better for the 15 button

    • Imagine if you harnessed the power of a mouse and keyboard and shortcut keys

      • Why not forsake the mouse entirely and use shortcuts for everything

        • Like we did before we had keyboards without numberpads!

          • @serpserpserp: I was being sarcastic. But my point stands, some people prefer convenience and the deck for a lot of us is more convenient than shortcut keys, esp in vr where you can feel which key you have assigned.

NB I have a thec64 on my desk here (and a Apple iic) without mice - when designed without mice in mind the experience is fine.

I prefer programming in the main without a mouse but for some things (copying and cutting and pasting text esp) its hugely useful

  • Apart for streaming usage, what do people use these streamdeck for?

    • I don't stream so I don't use any of those features. I mostly use it as a soundboard for voice comms in games though. I also have my capture controls on it to record, screenshot etc.

    • It's good for shortcuts and keybinds for games. I play fivem, so it involves lots of typing at times. So if you have a few common things you type you can set it up to go through all that automatically for you with a push of a button. Saves heaps of time. Or going through menus take time. But it's possible to type it also. So setting it via a button is great also.

    • I've always wondered how it works for productivity, eg having tool selection for Photoshop or something?

    • I use mine for gaming like Star Citizen where there's heaps of hotkeys and the Streamdeck makes it so much easier as you can see here.

Plus at work I have shortcuts set for various applications I need to use.

    • +3

I use mine at work to show ticket counts, outages, control my softphone (hangup/answer/mute mic/switch headset), speed dials, connect/disconnect VPN, lock my computer.

    • I just bought one to use as a macro box.

i read title as steamdeck :(

    • Same I was so disappointed when I re-read

  • bought one. going to try and connect it to zwift

  • It is almost exponentially more cost effective than buying streamdecks, to get a cheap android phone, with a full size screen/touch screen, and a far wider ecosystem of apps to tie into things (including streamdeck style functionality).

Goes 4x for flight sims, etc where a cheap tablet is even better again.

    • Except that you can’t feel which button you’re pressing. Viva la button!

The elgato still sucks. Break it open. It's a $10 buck ebay single continuous screen underneath a sheet of faux buttons.

        • Faux buttons make all the difference in VR
Not sure what other options there are. I’m open to ideas.

          • @2025: Now there's a point.

There are still other options that have actual rotary encoders though, great for flight sim.

          • @2025: Agreed, simple things you want to change in VR that cant in game this is a go-er for me. There are tons of solutions out there, but for this price I grabbed it.

        • Where do you get screens this size for $10 ? Last one I bought (was not a touch and but was really wide) was like $80 or something from aliexpress

      • I bought one of these (arrived today already installled) and its pretty nice.

Wondering if I could make a big one with a old tablet and some 3d printing clear for buttons….

  • good price

    • Just wondering if anyone ordered this one from the link?
Looks like the seller did a hit and run.
Tracking via Amazon isn't working properly from 4PX courier, it only says "Shipped" and no other events, but if I go to 4PX directly, it says it was sent from China to Adelaide and was delivered a month ago (I don't live in SA).

Have to wait 48 hours after the seller doesn't respond before I can dispute, even though I just received a mail saying my message (48 hours ago) could not be delivered to the seller as they've left Amazon…. lol.

I guess I have to wait some more before I can dispute….
Pretty shit from Amazon though with the whole tracking integration thing.

  • Just curious, did anyone else receive one that had been resealed?
