Apple Watch Series 2, White $205 + Shipping @ JB Hi-Fi

250

JB have a variety of older model Apple Watches- starting from the Series 2 on. While Series 2 and 3 won’t support the new watchOS coming soon, some of them are at a pretty good price if you really want an Apple Watch but don’t want to pay a lot for it.

Just an update - the Series 1 seems to have sold out.

Good thing. I would not recommend that at any price these days, but anything later is still very nice.
I'm more an Android guy, but when it comes to watches, Apple is miles ahead.
edit: I may be confusing Series 1 with first gen.

Don't be surprised if the battery doesn't work on these. I bought 2 of these the last time they were on sale and none of them worked out of the box. I had to spend hours on the phone with apple before they sent a replacement. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/634043

    • 100% this^

Once you budget for a new battery, the value in this deal disappears.

      • Is it even possible to replace battery? My series 6 watch battery is already at 87% max capacity and it’s not even that old. Hate to think what a series 2 is like.

If it’s bought sealed in the box Apple will ship a replacement unit

        • +1

Yeah they had to replace the whole watch. After hours on the phone (they didn't seem to believe that such old stock would still be sold new, even though I sent them the JB HiFi receipt, they were extra skeptical because the receipt didn't include the serial number).

Surely these would have been sitting on shelf for years? I thought only s3 was the oldest still made

    The year is 2084

    And Apple Watch s3

I heard that Australia Post are still delivering some Series 3s from launch day

The Apple Watch is dead, long live the Apple Watch Series 3!

Why would anyone buy these? S4 is the only one acceptable to buy out of the batch at this point. Even then it’s not long for this world. The S7 has gone down to 499 for eg Prime Day, don’t see why anyone would spend 350-400 bucks on an older model.

They’re fantastic wrist accessories even if they don’t turn on

        Lol this.
        Why else but to flex?

    • I just bought a series 2 for $140. Wife had a series one the just died and apple wanted $300 to replace. Pretty good to replace what she only really uses for notifications while at work

    Fugly as.

I would say it is only worth of 99 bucks because it's Apple. otherwise less than $50…

Bought the Series 5 44mm from JB yesterday for $299

    • A far better deal than this

    • Which JB?

    • Great find

    • How? It literally says $443.
Probably a flash sale or something.

  • Worth nothing that Series 2 is out of support now, doesn’t support the current version of watchOS let alone new ones.

  • I would pay the little bit more to get the Apple Watch 3 but you are better off getting a later version anyway.

  • Missus’ OG watch is still going strong, I don’t understand the complaints.

  • Whilst I agree with what everyone else has said about these old AWs are pretty much obsolete at this point, at the sub $150 price point, if I were to compare it with say, a heavily discounted Android Wear watch such as the Fossil watches from previous deals, the AW running an older firmware is probably still infinitely better and more useful. I say this as someone who bought one of those Fossil watches for <$150 and other than the initial novelty of it, stopped wearing it pretty quickly and went back to my AW (I carry an iPhone and an Android so could switch easily).

    • I would not buy ANY wear os watch (other than the galaxy watch 4 and 5) which isn't confirmed to run wear os 3. Google Assistant is totally broken on these old software versions and unlikely to ever get fixed.

  • Series 2 Nike edition $113 not yet shipped yet

  • just got refunded - guess they didnt have stock
