    You got lucky. I tried like more than 5 different Telstra live chats, each first said no problem with $10 monthly credit then all came back said couldn’t be done and had to be done by JB Hifi staff. Went to 2 different JB Hifi stores both said it had to be done by Telstra. Gave up eventually.

      I'll have to see when I get my first bill, the rep didn't say anything about it being a one time thing as I just said port in credit

            From my understanding, the only way this can be done is via the retentions team if you threaten to cancel your contract.
