Imo they had a decent system before blueprints. Sure loot boxes are garbage, but not as abhorrent as the pricing of their blueprint system.
I remember the Delorean DLC was like $3… these days it's $20+ for a goal explosion… that said I think their Rocket Pass is pretty good value… it pays for itself If you complete it… bought 1 for $15 and done about 6 of them.
Yeah it's a bit of a joke, but you are right about the pass. The ability to continue earning different colour rewards after completion is nice too (if that's still a thing, haven't played for a while)
I hate things like the passes but I did the same and I play it almost every day so worth the XP boost and other cosmetics I guess. Hard to get anything decent for free on there since Epic bought them and got rid of the chests/keys but at least the recent promo gave credits for once for completing tasks. Hopefully they do that again so can get some half decent bundle.
Yeah there use to be almost a constant drip feed of pretty cool free seasonal cosmetics and cross promos… that’s seemed to dry up a lot.
I'm still kicking myself for not buying it on Steam before the Epic reign of terror begun.
@Lanushi: I have a code from 2016 for steam I'm pretty sure I didn't use. I'm sure it doesn't work anymore but you could try it
@lozzag123: For me, it's up there with Blizzard for dodgy business practices. The store is essentially malware, taking data from several sources on your PC, their customer service is terrible, Easy Anti Cheat ruining playability and destroying community mods, price gouging on games and DLC, accounts being disabled/deleted without question, refusal to display customer reviews nor prevent NFT games to be sold, and in general, the company is a whole shit show.
Used to pay for itself, I think it now falls a couple of dollars short? Could be wrong, haven’t gotten a rocket pass in over a year
I only ever bought it once and make sure I get through enough tiers to get the credits for the next season at least.
Still pays for itself. Also, the anniversary event from a few weeks ago gave me about 400 credits for completing it iirc.
