Looking for a gaming laptop at around the $2500 mark. Considering this Alienware laptop. Don't need it to portable at all. Has to be a laptop as my work is willing to buy.
Thoughts and other potential options. TIA

why would you guess that?
I would take a close look at Lenovo.
My experience with 6+ Alienware and Dell laptops in 10 years has been they all suffer severe thermal management issues - ie. they overheat when gaming, playing games like Civilization 6.
This deal is no longer around, but I got one of these and it's way better at managing heat than the Alienware's or Dell's I have used.
Literally bought a Legion 5 for $1999 last night after your advice. I appreciate the follow up.
