This has been in the $160-$170 range a few times. Might want to wait for it to come down. Also it's a fairly old model but people seem to like it.

I've got this vacuum, it's really good. The suction is miles ahead of similar priced bagless models.

Agree, got it few years ago for around $190 as a replacement to bagless LG — dear lord, this thing sucks! (in a good way obviously)

Miele Compact C1 is made in China. (The one listed here) It used to be on sale last year for $169.

Miele Classic C1 is made in Germany. (Sold at JBHiFi) was $199 Dec 2020.

Miele C3 is made in Germany.

    China - Dongguan factory
Established in 1996 as a joint venture with Melitta, the Dongguan plant has been fully owned by the Miele Group since 2009. Currently Miele produces the Swing H1, Compact C1, Compact C2 and Complete C2 vacuum cleaners here. This includes, for example, the production of plastic components through in-house injection moulding as well as assembly. As with vacuum cleaners from the Bielefeld factory, all motors come from Miele in Euskirchen. Approx. 330 employees manufacture about 500,000 vacuum cleaners per year at the Dongguan factory.

Comparing Miele Complete C3 Versions (Made in Germany)

First things first, the C3 range includes a Cat & Dog version, the PowerLine, the Turbo, the Jubilee, the Multifloor and the Comfort.

The only significant difference between these models are the tools or attachments that have been included.

Take a quick look at this comparison table to get a better understanding.
Version Name Filter Type Accessories Included

C3 PowerLine Standard AirClean filter Consists of the standard accessories package of an upholstery nozzle, crevice nozzle and dusting brush

C3 Turbo Standard AirClean filter Beyond the standard package, also includes a Turbobrush

C3 Jubilee Standard AirClean filter Beyond the usual accessories, also includes a Parquet Brush Twister

C3 Multifloor HEPA AirClean filter Notwithstanding the standard accessories, also has the Parquet Brush Twister

C3 Cat & Dog Active AirClean filter After the standard accessories, also includes the Turbobrush and Mini Turbobrush

C3 Comfort HEPA AirClean filter After the standard package, also has a Parquet Brush Twister, Turbobrush and Mini Turbobrush

As an owner of a c3 for 5 years, you seriously wont go back to bagless. I change the bag once a year and suction is great all year round

I have an old (I mean 2008 old) Bosch GL40, a little red thing that’s made in Germany. It’s still going strong and we love it. I buy bags on eBay. I’ve had to fix a couple of broken things (including the bag holder rail). But it’s our go to even though we also have a Dustbuster (Black and Decker) and a Dreame V11. The Dreame is a bit of a disappointment, battery doesn’t last long because we only ever have it on turbo mode, and it fills up so quickly (small compartment). It’s also a pain to empty with shit going everywhere once you open the flap and then you need to unscrew the filter thing to get the rest of the hair and trapped bits.

My next vacuum will definitely be a Miele. My mother in law has once after owning a Dyson for a while and swears by it. Plus what I read here.

      • I use an old bagless Bosch at my relatives place, thing is big but a beast.
Certainly on par with my bagged Miele.

        • Thanks. I’d prefer bagless so I might keep that in mind too.

To be honest, Miele is a half dead brand. Cordless is the future, and Miele is suck at making cordless vaccum.

    • Don’t think they’re half dead, but the single handed dyson evangelists tend to make more noise

I hate cordless. They are expensive for what they are - over $1k!!! - and still don't have the same battery life and capacity as a corded vacuum.

Great for quick vacuums to touch up, but simply cannot do a whole house.

Miele vacuums are top notch. Very underrated - amazing suction and actually quiet - can have a conversation with it running, compared to a Dyson that makes so much noise.

    • Heavy battery, not as powerful. Miele are superior quality and their vacuums actually work. There was a time when people thought Dyson was the future, they like cordless too. A few of us realised all along they were massively overpriced, underperforming, poorly made machines bought by people with more money than sense. Same goes for those pathetic robot vacuums.

Bought this for $242 (GG Commercial) about 2 years ago and have found it very good and powerful. Nice size if you're in an apartment.
